Once the wedding date has been set the worry, pressure and nervousness kicks in. It is a big moment and one you may have been apprehending most of your adult life\u2026\u2026. The speeches!<\/p>\n<p>Writing the perfect wedding speech (or making it up as you go along) is not easy, so here are 5 no no\u2019s when it comes to putting pen to paper:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">Do not share drunken stories of your college days. If one of your stories begins with \u201cThere was one night when the groom and all the lads\u2026\u2026..\u201d Stop! You get the idea! Also, \u201cWhat happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas\u201d\u2026\u2026.. Do not share stories of the stag night. Really, there is no need!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">Don\u2019t swear! There may be a priest, clergyman and relatives that bad language may offend. Aunty Mary may not like to hear her precious nephew standing up in front of the guests using language from an X rated movie!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">If you are very nervous about the speech try not to overdo it at the bar beforehand. Dutch courage is one thing, but a drunken slur is a completely different matter.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">Try not to make jokes that only a select few will get. If there has been a longstanding joke amongst a group don\u2019t bring it up at the wedding as lots of your guests won\u2019t laugh and will just end up confused.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">There are some very important people to thank \u2013 if you want to keep the \u2018Thank you\u2019s to a minimum thank the bride\/groom for marrying you, their parents for welcoming you to the family, your own parents, the priest\/ clergy\/solemniser and the hotel.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>What&#8217;s your worst speech moment?
