12 years, 2 kids, and a house later…<\/p>\n

Kim and Joe’s love story began 12 years ago when they met on a night out, and 11 years ago Kim said “yes” to Joe’s magical Christmastime proposal. Their wedding is just one of those days we look at and can’t help but smile. With tender looks of love all around, the warmth of this family affair glows from beginning to end.<\/p>\n

This gorgeous pair celebrated their I do’s at the picturesque York Racecourse<\/strong><\/a>, which Kims calls a hidden treasure. With clean whites and twinkling lights, it was truly an enchanting celebration from start to finish. The Beginning<\/h2>\n

“Joe and I met in York whilst out with friends and we clicked instantly. 12 years, 2 kids and a house later we decided that getting married was our next adventure.”<\/p>\n

The Proposal<\/h2>\n

“On Christmas Eve 11 years ago, we had a xmas family gathering with both sides of the family. Joe got down on one knee and proposed. He and the family were all in on the surprise, I was shell shocked, but of course said yes. It was magical. I was so happy to share such a special moment with our family.”<\/p>\n

The Dress<\/h2>\n

I knew I had found my dress the second I saw it. It was designed by Alan Hannah and made from Japanese Mikado silk in ivory. It was simple, elegant and I had found \u2018the one\u2019. Our daughters dress matched my ivory colour and Our Son matched his daddy in light grey suits.<\/p>\n

The Venue<\/h2>\n

“We are extremely fond of the York Racecourse as we hold many special memories there.\u00a0The Racecourse is somewhere which ourselves, friends and family gather every year for good fun. Whether it be taking a picnic to the races with our children or getting dressed up for fun day with friends, we have made many special memories there. Joe suggested the Racecourse for our wedding venue so we booked to view the Parade Ring. It was everything we were looking for and more.<\/p>\n

The Parade Ring room is simply stunning. The thing what we fell in love with first was how light and airy the room is with windows from floor to ceiling, and the ceiling is a feature in itself. The staff were so helpful before and on the day and our wedding organiser Matt was exceptional. The day flowed to perfection. I wouldn\u2019t change a thing.”<\/p>\n

The Photographer<\/h2>\n

“Sophie Eleanor was our wedding photographer. She instantly made us feel at ease. We asked for natural photographs but also a few structured ones with family altogether. I cannot recommend Sophie enough; she captured our special moments perfectly.”<\/p>\n

“The theme we wanted was \u2018Simplicity\u2019. The Parade Ring was the perfect room for this. Our colour theme was white, with bunting festoon lights and fairy lights to give it the wow factor. We wanted a classy finish which our wedding organisers helped us to achieve perfectly.”<\/p>\n

Memorable Moments<\/h2>\n

“Kim: I remember the feeling of pure happiness walking down the aisle, I didn\u2019t once take my eyes off Joe. And the feeling of relief I didn\u2019t cry and smudge my make-up ha-ha.”<\/p>\n

“Joe: The feeling of looking at Kim walking down the aisle is a feeling I won\u2019t ever forget, it was unbelievable. One funny moment was when I struggled to get Joes wedding ring on during our vows. Also it was panic stations when the best man couldn\u2019t find the weddings rings seconds before I walked down the aisle. From start to finish it was the perfect day.”<\/p>\n

Special thoughts<\/h2>\n

“The only thing to add is we are sad it\u2019s all over. We thoroughly enjoyed planning the wedding from start to finish. I think we need a new project now! I highly recommend the racecourse for anybody that is looking for a wedding venue, it is a hidden treasure!”<\/p>\n
