There comes certain time in every man\u2019s life where he needs a perfect shave. Whether you\u2019re going for that all important job interview or you\u2019re about to marry the love of your life, a clean shaven face is a must! While we are personally fond of a little facial hair on a man every now and then, your wedding day is usually reserved for a clean and stubble free face. Here\u2019s our how to shave!<\/p>\n

Be prepared<\/h2>\n

Fresh out of the shower with those open pores is perfect way to start. Put in the extra care and attention your face needs with warm water or a hot and damp face cloth a few minutes before you decide to go in! A non-foaming gel will allow you to see where you\u2019re shaving.<\/p>\n

As well as this, investing in a quality trimmer and shaver will work wonders as you\u2019re not just trimming hair, you\u2019re also removing layers of surface skin. A dirty old and dull razor will usually result in a poor shave and sometimes razor burn. Go on, treat yourself to something nice, you\u2019re worth it!<\/p>\n

Using Your Razor<\/h2>\n

Ideally, in the words of the Queer Eye guys, it\u2019s always best to shave in the direction of the beard growth. Start with the sides of your face, then the moustache area, leaving your chin to last. Generally, chin hairs are the toughest, so this will allow time to soften under your shaving cream or gel. Not sure what direction your facial hair grows in? Leave a little stubble form a day or two to find out!<\/p>\n

Slow and light strokes when shaving are usually the best way to get a great shave. If you find you need to press harder into the skin, chances are your blade is too dull. A fast or rushed approach to shaving will usually result in cuts and sensitive skin.<\/p>\n

After<\/h2>\n

Alright, so you\u2019ve managed to shave your beard perfectly, yes! But what next? Regular shaving can remove the top layers of your skin so it\u2019s important to get yourself a good moisturizer. Men tend to have thicker skin which means women\u2019s moisturizers are too greasy (so don\u2019t go stealing hers!).<\/p>\n

Can\u2019t let go of that beautiful bushy beard?<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s okay, we understand, beards are beautiful! Not to mention that they are a great way of contouring your face if you weren\u2019t blessed with a Brad Pitt chin. But, for the office or your big day, your beard should have a little tailoring.<\/p>\n

Trim the beard down to at least 4 centimetres. Unless you can pull off the wild lumberjack hipster look or you\u2019re in Kings of Leon, you probably can\u2019t pull it off for a wedding.<\/p>\n

Always shave below the chin line. This will give you that sculpted Pitt chin and give your beard a more groomed appearance.<\/p>\n

A lot of men may have different coloured facial hair to the hair on their head. For an occasion like a wedding or interview, why not dye it to match the rest of your hair? It may sound a little girly, but it will make a difference!<\/p>\n
