The article in question is a garter \u2013 a lacy strip of material worn around the thigh and for your husband\u2019s eyes only. We think an afternoon spent making your very own garters would make for a very fun hen party. It\u2019ll add a little personal touch to your wedding day, even if not everyone\u2019s privy to it!<\/p>\n

Everyone can get involved in this wedding DIY \u2013 a garter doesn\u2019t just have to be worn by a blushing bride and we\u2019re sure every boyfriend and husband wouldn\u2019t mind finding one wrapped around their girlfriends leg. They\u2019re not hard to make, just make sure you\u2019ve got the right equipment. You\u2019ll need some stretchy, lace ribbon, a needle and thread, fabric glue and some rhinestones if you want to add some sparkle.<\/p>\n

First off measure the circumference of your leg garter with a tape measure where you want to position. Place the lace on the tape measure but make sure you cut it an inch shorter so the garter won\u2019t fall down. When you sew the ends together, turn it inside out otherwise the seam will be on the outside. A rhinestone appliqu\u00e9 would make it look a little more professional, but if you\u2019re not too hot with your needle and thread we suggest you stick with the fabric glue. Leave it to dry and voila! Your garter is ready to go!<\/p>\n
