When it comes to wedding favours and sweets, we have a confession to make here in the WeddingDates office\u2026. We have a problem with retro sweets. We\u2019re all hooked! Collectively, we\u2019ll all vow \u201cnever again\u201d at the end of the month, but, when Karen or Tom spots a cute cupcake<\/a> photo on Facebook or someone\u2019s birthday comes up, we HAVE to pig out!<\/p>\n

Now, I\u2019m not blameless here. Every time there\u2019s a special offer in the local shop, I come back with nearly a crate of Oreos\u2026 Okay not a crate, but you get the picture! So, when I discovered The Gobstopper and realized they also do wedding favours, I figured we needed to do research (for the sake of our WeddingDaties brides and grooms of course).<\/p>\n

The independent vintage shop from Hale Village in Cheshire is just adorable and is run by couple Lisa and Mark who opened up just two years ago and have already become a local success.<\/p>\n

Falling in love with their story, I headed to the website to the \u2018Click n\u2019 Mix\u2019 section of their site, where I picked out Turkish Delights, Shrimp and Alphabet Letters. One word\u2026 Yum!<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a little bit of a sugar pixie fairy, so the tangy taste of Alphabet Letters suited me just fine and I\u2019ve always had a love for Turkish Delights. All-in-all I was very happy with my choices\u2026 But I do regret not thinking about how they would taste and look together!<\/p>\n

When the package came\u2026 I was elated! The box was quickly picked up and devoured by the WeddingDates team like a pack of zombies at the sight of some fresh brains (excuse the Halloween themed metaphor!).<\/p>\n

The cute little mason jar<\/a> came with mine and Ciara\u2019s name (I\u2019m sure we\u2019d make a lovely couple!) which was a thoughtful touch. I loved the retro style of the packaging and the idea of re-using the jar afterwards (it\u2019s going to make a lovely spot for my pens and nic-nacs!).<\/p>\n
