It\u2019s been 6 years since my last blunder (this big anyway). I tanned too much. It all began a few days ago when my skin began to peel (very pretty) from sitting out in the sun. Which would be fine, except I have a wedding coming up (not mine). I will spare you the details and cut to the chase, I now have a spray-tanned body with some very interesting patches. My back looks like a map of the world and the front currently looks like a half peeled dirty potato! It will hopefully even out with some moisture for the day but it did get me thinking about weddings and the funny last minute decisions we can make in a panic. Here are some beauty blunders to avoid in the time leading up to your wedding.<\/p>\n<h2>Hair<\/h2>\n<p>Just say no to any new ideas with <a title=\"hair\" href=\"https:\/\/www.weddingdates.ie\/blog\/wedding-hair\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow\">hair<\/a>. Personally, I can go a little mad with my drastic hair changes. Second confession: I managed to get a slightly crazy new hair do two weeks before this wedding but fortunately I grew to like it. New dyes, up-dos or haircuts are all huge no no\u2019s. A slight trim a fortnight before will be more than enough to keep you going before the big day. You\u2019ve chosen your colour and style for a reason \u2013 because it suits your wedding dress.<\/p>\n<h2>Going for a Last Minute Facial<\/h2>\n<p>It may seem like a nice treat or good way to fix your skin before the big day, but any beauty expert will tell you it\u2019s not a good idea. In fact, if you happen to tell them your wedding is just a few days away, they\u2019ll probably stop you right there! Just stick to what ever your normal routine is as anything new to your skin could cause breakouts.<\/p>\n<h2>Not Getting a Hair and Beauty Trials Done<\/h2>\n<p>Yes, it is expensive but it\u2019s not worth skimping on. You\u2019ll need to know how it all looks together to see if your look works as well as testing its durability. Do these in the order you will have them before the big day too. Have your curls dropped later in the day? Did your make-up last or smudge if you cried (obviously you\u2019ll cry cos your trial looks AMAZING)? Did your tan fade around your hairline with you hit up the hairdressers? All questions you need answered! Also, it\u2019s always a good idea to organise your trials around another event that you can get good use out of them.<\/p>\n<h2>Not Knowing Your Specialist<\/h2>\n<p>Okay, THIRD confession! I don\u2019t have a regular hairdresser\/beauty therapist. And I\u2019m always interested in finding a new place to try. While this can be a good way to meet new people and try something a little different, not having a relationship with your specialist means the person beautifying you doesn\u2019t know what you like. If you don\u2019t have a regular, ask for a recommendation from a friend whose likes and tastes you share.<\/p>\n<h2>Any Adventurous Activites<\/h2>\n<p>While you might be cool enough to pull off a cast with your wedding dress, it\u2019s probably not ideal for the day. Try to avoid anything like crazy paint ball hen party activities close to your big day.
