Communication has been brilliant with all of them—Gaynor, Shannon, Leah, and Katy. Everyone has been so helpful and has always gone above and beyond. We could not recommend Balbirnie highly enough. We viewed a few venues in and around Edinburgh, and this was by far the best of the best. Thank you so much again!

questions over email no matter how small, they really had thought of everything to make sure our day was amazing as it was.

David was our on-the-day coordinator and was incredible, our families cannot sing his praises enough, I think he might be superhuman as he was here, there and everywhere and anything we needed on the day was sorted in an instant. He was in control of everything.

The staff were excellent at catering to our difficult dietary requirements, and all our guests commented on how fantastic the food was.

We would highly recommend Balbirnie as a wedding venue for any future couples, we will remember our wedding day at Balbirnie for the rest of our lives!

unforgettable. A special thanks goes to Leah and Angela, who were nothing short of amazing! They ensured the entire day flowed seamlessly, and when our flowers didn’t arrive on time, they went out of their way to keep me calm. They even created beautiful bouquets for me and my bridesmaid using flowers from the Balbirnie gardens, which was one of the kindest, most thoughtful gestures. Those little details meant the world to us.

Throughout the day, all we heard from our guests was how incredible the staff were and how delicious the food was. If you're dreaming of a perfect wedding, I couldn’t imagine a more magical place than Balbirnie!

absolute pros at this. Special mentions to our MC, Angela, and Gaynor for making sure everything ran smoothly and was exactly how we had imagined it. I had hand-crafted our seating plan out of vases and artificial flowers, which on the day Angela beautifully arranged on my behalf.

The venue is stunning both inside and out, which with the unpredictable Scottish weather is definitely a bonus. We had the ceremony and drinks reception on the beautifully manicured lawns and were even allowed alpacas at the drinks reception as special guests! (They stole the show but were not even bothered). And the canapes and drinks were absolutely flowing which our guests greatly appreciated.

The food was first class and by far the best I’ve ever eaten at a wedding. And our guests staying in the house were all blown away by how spacious their rooms were.

We really couldn’t have asked for more. We’ve had a number of guests tell us it’s the best wedding they’ve ever been to. Balbirnie even somehow arranged blazing sunshine for us! We wouldn’t have changed a thing about our wedding day, it really was perfect.

plans. I reside in England so I was doing my planning at a distance and it was so much easier than I imagined!

The food was just delicious and I had great feedback from my guests. The house itself is pristine with friendly staff who had the house decorated as per all instructions and moved things around during the day depending on where guests were. But most importantly I think the thing we loved most was how Angela prioritised time for just Tony and I, helping us sneak in little moments alone. The day rushes by and it’s surprising how often you’re so busy! Angela really helped us to relax, take a breather and enjoy time as a very newly married couple and I will always appreciate this.

Special thanks to Leah for being our coordinator too - she is super smiley and friendly and so professional. And I would say that Balbirnie is also great value for money too :)

My bridesmaids and I also loved how big the pearl suite was - it was perfect and gave us plenty of space for getting ready (I had three bridesmaids and my mum and we didn’t feel on top of each other!)

And don’t worry if the Scottish weather takes over - Balbirnie has plenty of rooms and spaces for gorgeous photos!

Value for money is good, food exceptional and staff really went above and beyond to give us the perfect day.

They have a brilliant team who set everything up for us and we didn't have to lift a finger.
The staff planned short breaks for us throughout the day which were perfectly timed allowing us to enjoy quiet moments together.

Even packing up the following morning was effortless as they brought everything together and offered assistance to pack the cars.
Every single staff member was professional and friendly throughout the entire process.

Balbirnie, and it was truly a blessing in disguise. From our first visit when trying to find a new venue, we were made to feel at total ease given the apprehension from just having our original venue let us down; the staff we met reassured us and went above and beyond to ensure we felt confident about our decision to put our already damaged trust in Balbirnie’s hands, even going as far as saying we would be welcome to request to see financial plans to put our mind at rest that Balbirnie would not go the same way, they didn’t need to offer that, but the fact they did gave us reason to trust them, and we were right to do so.

Gaynor has been an absolute gem, along with her fellow coordinators on her days off, answering all our questions no matter how big, small or silly. She went above and beyond to make our vision, down to the smallest details, exactly as we had envisaged. This review is from myself and my wife; however, it is really indirectly from our entire guest list because I don’t think one of them could fault the day, from the building to the wedding staff to the food to the reception staff, everything was exactly as we dreamed it would be.

Kenny, our MoC, was brilliant in informing us what would happen, where we needed to be, and when, without being overwhelming. This put us at total ease and allowed us to enjoy and take in as much as possible, knowing that everything else was taken care of on the operational side.

Balbirnie made the disappointment of losing our first venue, into the excitement of us ending up with them, and Balbirnie will now forever be a special place for my wife and I. We look forward to spending many special occasions and anniversaries revisiting the place that gave us our perfect day.

the Team were fantastic - the day ran to time and he was always one step ahead which meant we could just enjoy ourselves. Food and service were excellent; the dance floor was fab and the flow of all the spaces within the Hotel worked beautifully.
