Our beautiful Coed-Y-Mwstwr, a charming Victorian mansion set in Bridgend in a leafy, wooded hillside with far-reaching views across the verdant rolling pastures of the Vale of Glamorgan and beyond to the north Devon coast. It began life in 1888 as a bustling family home to liberal MP Arthur John WiIliams and his wife, Rose.

Surrounded in the romance of the ‘Whispering Trees’, the Coed-Y-Mwstwr provides a whimsical backdrop for those picture perfect moments. Escape to the manicured gardens, the wild woods or cosy fireplaces, you’ll find beauty around every corner.

Immortalised in timeless beauty, our elegant Eliot Suite is located in the original part of the 19th Century Victorian Mansion. Say ‘I do’ beneath a beautiful high dome ceiling and classic chandeliers. This haven of charm and romance is the perfect setting to host your wedding ceremony and also an intimate wedding breakfast of between 20-60 guests.

The Hendre Suite is at the heart of the Coed-Y-Mwstwr Hotel. Adorned with high oak beamed ceilings, classic chandeliers and breath-taking views through its tri-fold doors, the Hendre is the most sought after suite to host between 70-170 guests for your ceremony and wedding breakfast. It’s own private bar, patio and lounge makes this versatile suite the ideal location for your celebrations.

Finally, nestled in our secret garden is a beautifully modern new addition to The Coed Y Mwstwr, our Folly. With full glass sliding doors and a retractable roof, this amazing space offers a special sun trap but also shelter from our unpredictable Welsh weather. By taking the inside outside, you can celebrate from sunrise until sunset for up to 100 guests

From the moment we stepped into the Coed, we felt like we were part of the family. Our original thoughts were “This place looks so fancy and we are not fancy people” but that thought was quickly pushed out of our heads when we started talking to staff.

When going through the stages of planning the wedding, all staff were so helpful with consistent emails, planning and adjusting when needed. Rachel, Megan and Tegan were incredible at helping with our every need and making sure that our big day was as magical and perfect as possible - which it definitely was.
I could write a huge essay of thank yous and reasons why, but we’d be here for years, but overall, the Coed-Y-Mwstwr and all involved in its running are incredible and I can’t recommend it enough for your big day - or even just for a night away.

Alongside it being a stunning location, the staff ensured that every detail was flawlessly taken care of from the very first meeting to the last dance of the night. The events team were amazing and always answered every little question we had before the big day, whilst on the day itself Tegan took excellent care of us.
Many of our guests commented on how tasty the menu was and in particular, enjoyed the homemade fudge served at the drinks reception.
An added bonus is that the venue is dog friendly, which allowed us to be able to have our lovely Springador join us for some photos and socialising. This venue truly is special and we couldn't imagine our day being anywhere else.

Absolutely amazing! The day went without a glitch.

The food was out of this world. It was served fast and hot with no mistakes or anything left out and all our guests where happy and full. The staff where very helpful and when a guest got taken ill they boxed her dinner up ready to go so she …

Drinks where served fast and efficiently with no one missing out! The venue is beautiful and clean I couldn't imagine our day anywhere else. The only sad thing is that we won't get a wedding day again!
