the whole wedding team are so professional and their expertise was valued and we always felt like we were in the safest of hands.

The Baron's Hall made for an excellent venue, and the space proved to have all the versatility required for a full wedding (ceremony, and reception). The hall comes with a bar situated in a historic vault/dungeon which made for a very characteristic place to host our guests.

The rest of the hotel is full of interesting and cosy spots. The library bar is a wonderful place to go for an impromptu drink, and the food is of excellent quality. Most of our wedding guests stayed overnight and reported that they were very pleased with their hotel rooms. My husband and I stayed in the King James suite, which offered the perfect blend of historic charm with modern luxury.

I would highly recommend Lumley to any couple looking for a wedding venue in the North East, and although the castle itself is a magnificent setting, the most important draw factor is the wedding team, who really do provide the last word in professionalism, service and expertise.

after speaking to Lindsey did we realize not only had we found our dream venue, but we were working with a true professional who knew her stuff, and we couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised!

Lindsey went above and beyond to turn our ideas into reality at our dream venue, helping us create the perfect day. For that, we will be forever thankful!

Right up until the week before, when we were working with Keith, Lindsey truly exceeded every expectation. No matter the issue, big or small, she was always just an email away, ready to reassure us. We will truly miss her and our wedding meetings!

A huge shoutout to Keith, who took over the week before the wedding to handle the logistics of the day. From the moment we met him, we knew the day would run exactly as we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he was determined to make sure everything went perfectly. Even the day before, when he wasn’t supposed to be on shift, he came to check on us as we were panicking with last-minute details. He was unbelievable at calming us down!

I’d also like to mention all the staff who worked on August 12, 2024 (too many to name, and I don’t want to leave anyone out). They went above and beyond anything we could have expected, including a shift manager who dealt with an incident. We want to thank each of you from the bottom of our hearts. You’re all incredible and truly made it a day to remember—a perfect day. Thank you again, and we’ll definitely be back for our usual charcuterie boards at the library!

worked with us throughout and, with the help of Keith, the Master of Ceremonies on the day, delivered a perfect wedding.

We had a few additional requests, which included accommodating lots of small children who would be excitable, but they loved spending a weekend in a castle. Disability access for a wheelchair user was also accommodated, so that concern was easily catered for.

Responses from our guests included comments like, “Such a fantastic wedding!” and “We are still reminiscing about the wedding; it was amazing!”

I cannot forget to mention that the staff throughout the weekend were helpful at all times, always on hand for any request. Well done, beautiful Lumley Castle. You did us proud.

was. Everything was beautiful, immaculate and ran so smoothly. Keith our master of ceremony , in particular has an eye for detail and perfection. He looked after single small detail we wanted. The day ran without a hitch and we can thank Keith and the rest of the team for ensuring that was the case.

Thank you so much for making it’s so special and delivering the exact vision we imagined our day would be. The venue is just stunning and magical, that both adults and children were in awe of its beauty. It was decorated stunning for Christmas which just added to the magic. The ceremony room ( barons ) was romantic and charming, a really stunning setting. We headed on to the garter suite for the wedding breakfast and evening reception, which was outstandingly beautiful and the white decor makes it a very versatile room for colour themes. We had so many guests comment on the gorgeous canapés ( believe the tart was everyone’s fave) .

The meal was beautiful also. But the main thank you really does go to the team, we can’t believe how bespoke, kind and accommodating everyone was. They made it so perfect and even had a few guests tell us it was the best wedding they be been too! But a final thank you for Keith ( master of ceremony) he just understood myself and Mikes eye for perfection and helped deliver our dream with a truly outstanding service. Thank you, cant wait to come back for an evening and relive our memories at a very unique and special venue.
