The Grade 2 listed New House is a serene and romantic country pile, originally built by a wealthy Welsh industrialist, Thomas Lewis in the 1730s. A country hotel located in the stunning Thornhill, just outside of Cardiff.

Cath and Emily. They assured me that everything was fine and that I had nothing to worry about. I had ONE brief conversation with them about what I wanted regarding the set-up, and without any further explanation or prompting, they executed every last detail with military precision! I was sincerely blown away by the sheer efficiency of these incredible women! I wasn’t sure what I was expecting, but I presumed there would at least have to be some effort made on my part towards the set-up, but that was not the case at all! My only responsibility was to enjoy my day, and that’s exactly what I did.

I could not have wished for a better team. I felt so well looked after throughout the day. Everything ran so smoothly, It was just a flawless experience from start to finish, and I cannot thank you both enough!!

Not only were the staff incredible, but the venue itself was gorgeous. Stunning location, and beautiful views. The food was amazing. I cannot fault any aspect! It was all perfect! It was the best day of our lives. It was everything I dreamed it would be.

I’d also like to mention that we live overseas, and email was our primary source of communication, but even with the 12-hour time difference, I was really impressed with the speedy response time.

We couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. Absolutely perfect wedding venue.
We were even gifted a love spoon from Cath and Emily, with our names and our wedding date on it, which was such a thoughtful and lovely touch!

We will treasure these memories for a lifetime! Thank you so much xx

top notch, not once did we have to wait for an anwser to any query we gave her.
The food was delicious and we have had many compliments from our guest about how lovely it was. The only small critism we have is the centre pieces needed altering so you may want to check the small details yourself. The rooms are also lovely and the get ready room for the bride and bridesmaids was really helpful. Another plus for us was that the bar downstairs is open 24 hours so we went there when the wedding ended at 12am and continued the party. If you are thinking of having your wedding here then we cannot recommend it enough. It was a wonderful day that we will cherish forever, and we just want to thanks all the staff at New House for making the day so special.

requests, such as dietary concerns for certain guests, and delivering a last minute BBQ on the Friday for our guests. The weekend itself was everything we had wished for and the day went perfectly. We could not recommend them enough, they made planning our wedding a joy.

to our taste. Contact was excellent and all my endless queries were answered quickly and comprehensively.

The pre-wedding check was very thorough and reassured us everything was in hand and the day was going to be excellent. We were so excited with the improvements to the marquee and although it was lovely before it was 100% better and looked much more modern with the improvements.

We stayed in the Countess Suite the night before with the getting-ready room for the morning of the wedding. This was well worth it and made the morning run so smoothly. The day was absolutely brilliant and beautiful and we wish we could do it all again. Finally, all the little touches by the hotel (we won’t want to spoil them for future couples) made us feel so special! Thank you so much.

We already knew we loved the food before our big day but didn’t expect it to be such a hit as it was with the guests, today 4 months on people still talk about how amazing their meal was!

We were extremely lucky to be treated to the beautiful renovation of the marquee which is absolutely stunning!
I would recommend this venue to every bride and groom!
When booking I was initially sceptical about it also being a functional hotel but on the day the amazing staff make you feel that your the only people in the world, never mind on site.
The only thing that’s negative is I wish I could relive this day over and over again!
