Ratsbury Barn is a magnificent 17th century timber-framed and thatched barn located in an area of outstanding natural beauty near Tenterden.

This unique venue is suited to a variety of styles of weddings and receptions with many opportunities for photographs.

The Barn - Our Barn offers you a beautiful and most unusual setting for your wedding ceremony with many opportunities for photographs in and around the Barn and the walled garden.

The Ceremony - You can choose to have your ceremony anywhere within the Barn or under the canopy at the front and with guests seated either inside or outside.

The Reception - The venue is suited to a variety of types of reception both inside or outside. You are free to use caterers of your choice to suit your individual requirements and budget.

Possibilities include:

• drinks and canapés
• a buffet
• a barbeque
• a sit down meal
• fish and chips
• a picnic
• cream teas

Entertainment can include live music or recorded music. You are welcome to bring games, or hire a bouncy castle.

Hire of the Barn - The Barn may be hired for weddings or wedding receptions on any day from May to October. The Barn accommodates a maximum of about 120 seated at tables. You may bring a small marquee to provide additional circulation space in case of poor weather.

Charges vary according to the day of the week and period of hire. You may also hire the Barn for the ceremony only. This is a four hour time period, commencing one hour before the ceremony and also allows time for photographs and drinks and canapés. You are free to choose the time of the ceremony.

You may also hire the Barn for additional time at an hourly rate until 9pm at the latest (6pm on Sundays) to enable a full reception to take place. In either can you may come anytime on the day to decorate, for caterers to set up at no extra charge.
