seen the hotel or had met anyone . It was a risk but we had such excellent communication from the very first email enquiry that we decided to go ahead, from that first email we was reassured that we had booked the perfect venue and that we would be looked after from start to finish. Our conclusion is.
WOW WOW WOW .What a truly fantastic hotel . In everyway the hotel and all the staff made us and all our guest's feel so welcomed and nothing was too much trouble. We was staying two nights and everyone said their rooms where perfect. We had the finlay suite and what a truly superb room for the bride and groom. The wedding went without a hitch. This mainly though is down to the hotel staff who are probably the best we have ever come across. All friendly and so helpful. Customer service was outstanding. Special mention has to go to Vicky and katrina. These two ladies are the wedding planners and they where fantastic in every way. Everything we asked for from the small little things to other bits and pieces was taken care of. We felt so relaxed in their hands . We had the chapel room for the ceremony and it was perfect. The wedding breakfast was outstanding, the food was the best that we or any of our guests had ever had at a wedding. We went and thanked the chefs.
We had such a truly wonderful day at the newton , we wanted a day to remember, the newton hotel and everyone of its staff exceeded our expectations in every way.
We had the most wonderful two days that will be remembered always.
Newton Hotel thank you. You promised us a perfect wedding and that's exactly what you gave us.

all our close friends and family came and could sit and enjoy a catch up and a drink the night before.
The morning of our wedding we had breakfast on our room (bride and bridesmaids) and it was really relaxed. The only problem we had was they were going to put us out of one of our interconnected rooms but we spoke to the manager and that was soon rectified but the groom and best man was put out of there room which resulted in all the men having to go into the grooms parents room instead of having there own room to get ready in but apart from that everything was fantastic and cant thank the newton and there staff enough for making our wedding day so special.

us via email and telephone calls and regular meetings was consistent and nothing was too much bother for Janet and her team. Even down too our unusual request for a Spanish style Tapas wedding breakfast. Janet and the Chef met with us to discuss our menu and it was better than we could of imagined. All the staff on the day from start to finish were fantastic and knew exactly what they were doing, a special mention to Stuart the MC for the day for making us feel so relaxed with his professionalism. The venue is stunning, rooms perfect, and the Newton is a perfect wedding venue. All the guests had a wonderful day and they all commented on how the day just flowed without any problems. We cannot thank you all enough for making our dream turn into reality.

amazing. We had a great time! The only down side was it all went so fast, we would love to do it all over again!

The staff were very attentive, efficient and friendly. No request was too much on the run up or on the day.

The setting of course is beautiful, Lovely grounds that are so well kept. We had a small meal in the chapel which is such a lovely venue and then onto the main function room for our evening reception. It really is a great space.

Our Bridal room for the night was the Finlay suite which had a gorgeous view across the Moray Firth which was just lovely to see onthe morning our 1st full day of being Mr and Mrs, even through slightly bleary eyes! Its great that they have an option of rooms to suite your needs.

Lots of lovely compliments from guests who had never been to the hotel before.

you couldn't ask for a more relaxed and friendly individual, she really was fab and so organised!! Janet answered all of my emails and phonecalls promptly which was great.

was our MC and went out of his way to make sure everything was going well.
The staff are just incredible. They made us feel like we were the most important people on the planet.
The chef and kitchen staff made us the most delicious meal for our wedding breakfast. Everyone was served in a timely manner and glasses were always topped up.
My husband was so impressed he's looking at us staying next year to celebrate our 1 year anniversary.

thankful for all her help through emails with answers to all my questions, chatting and organising over a cup of tea and for the overall support she gave us.
The staff on our wedding day were perfect, our day went smooth and all of our guests commented on the superb service we all received.
When i arrived at the newton it was raining, Janet and her team were waiting outside for me with umbrellas which i thought was very thoughtful and kind. I was so happy to see Janet, she made me feel calm and relaxed.
Our meal was lovely, all our guests enjoyed their meal and we couldnt fault any of it. Service during the meal was outstanding, drinks being poured to all guests, top ups and the food came out professionally and quickly.

I walked in not knowing what I wanted for my wedding but when I sat down and spoke to Janet she made me feel so comfortable and gave me some ideas to think about. Before I saw the place, I already knew I wanted Janet there to help me along the way. You get the feeling like you are a part of the Newton Hotel family. Any questions you may have... they are there to help. Kevin is the man to see about the delicious food! Our guest still go on about the meal at our wedding, it was superb.
If you are anything like me I got so excited I took all the family one by one to view the hotel and instead of making me feel like I was being a pain and an inconvenience I got a big hug and a 'welcome back' each time I went back. Everything went perfectly and if there were any problems I was not aware of them, just what you want on your big day!
We are going to be renewing our wedding vows there to re-live our beautiful day (my husband doesn't know that yet)
I certainly recommend the Newton Hotel Nairn for your wedding (or any special occasion) as you will be looked after and will not be disappointed.

the whole day went smoothly. She was full of suggestions and knows a variety of suppliers in the area that she is happy to recommend, but she is very open to your ideas and wanted us to have a day that matched our specifications exactly. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and made for a wonderful venue for photographs. They even persuaded the two highland cows to cooperate for photographs! The staff worked very quickly to reset the room from the ceremony to the meal and then again for dancing in the evening. The food was brilliant, and the menu for the bride and groom to make their choices from was extensive. The chef was accommodating of allergies and food intolerances. The service at the meal was first class, nobody felt rushed when eating, however courses were served in a timely manner by very polite staff. The majority of the wedding party stayed in the hotel the night before and of the wedding and service during their full stay was excellent.

and Janet wanted to check if this would be a problem for any of the guests. One of the guests has difficulty with stairs so they very kindly offered them an annex suit which they said was lovely. On the weekend everything was perfect from the minute I arrived. Everything had been set up and mark, our master of ceremonys, went over everything to make sure it was all correct. Myself and one of the bridesmaids stayed in the findlay suite on the Friday night, it was lovely and their was loads of room for us all to get ready on sat morning, at one point their were 8 of us in there and it wasn't crowded. As we had a small wedding, only 44 people, we had the ceremony in the chapel which is stunning then we had the meal in the large hall which was partitioned off for the meal and opened up for the evening dance. The meal was fantastic and all the staff were so brilliant, even when I kept asking to leave and collect things from behind reception the girls were so helpful. Lots of the guests commented on the excellent food, and the brillent venue. We had a brilliant relaxed wedding, and we couldn't have asked for a better venue. Thanks.

events manager Hannah was extremely helpful and helped me out so much with my planning. She pointed out a lot of things I would have forgotten and made the entire planning process a lot more easier and enjoyable.

We were lucky that the hotel was free on the Friday night so we managed to get in and set up the night before the wedding. All the staff were so helpful and gave us anything we needed. Then on the actual day we had Mark from the hotel helping us. I cannot stress how amazing he is at his job, he made the day run so smoothly and made sure me and my husband were always happy. In fact all of the staff were superb!

The hotel itself looked stunning (especially the Chapel Room), the grounds are gorgeous, the food was good, the dance floor was completely transformed at night with low lighting to set the mood and the bar was reasonably priced. Overall I cannot recommend the Newton Hotel enough! We will definitely be back as guests!

above and beyond our expectations.

Colin and I live are both originally from Nairn but currently live in USA and were travelling around a lot while planning the wedding. Hannah made it all so easy, she always got back to my emails quickly and had lots of helpful suggestions for décor etc. and recommended lots of great vendors. My parents-in-law still live in Nairn and were therefore able to do things like our menu tasting for us, which was great. They were always made to feel welcome and like they were able to pop in and discuss details with Hannah in person whenever needed. We were even giving the whole day before the wedding to set up the function area which was amazingly helpful.

On the day, our MC was Mark who also did an amazing job. He was able to keep everything running smoothly and keep all of our guest happy. The bar staff, David and Ronnie, also did a fab job which can't have been easy with our 'lively' bunch, particularly by the end of the night!

The venue itself was beautiful. We were lucky enough to have a sunny day and I saw a few guests having a wander down to see the highland cows in the field outside the hotel. The reception area and function room had plenty space for our guests (150 during the day + 50 more evening guests). The meal was delicious, we went for a choice menu with haggis, neeps and tatties or Cullen skink to start, champagne sorbet, then roast loin of venison or chicken wrapped in bacon for main and finally lemon tart or a trio of desserts. We were able to work with the chef and personalise the menu so we got exactly what we wanted and it was perfect on the day.

We would highly recommend the Newton Hotel to anyone planning their wedding.

venues including Achnagairn House, The Dairy at Daviot and Geddes House. All the venues were of a high standard but it was clear from the first meeting that the Newton was in a league of its own. The venue itself offers a great space for a wedding with drinks receptions/dining/dancing areas confined to two adjoining rooms and the hotel is in an idyllic location. The hotel has done well to maintain its period features whilst being both contemporary and "homely" as some guests commented. Another obvious selling points was the team. They have adapted the skills of combining their guidance and experience on how a wedding should be organised to run efficiently whilst still maintaining a flexible attitude to ensure your day is unique to how you want it. A great example was the food. As it was a Christmas wedding we wanted to move away from traditional wedding food and go haver something slightly different. The team worked together to deliver food of the highest quality which outdid all our expectations as well as preparing a menu that would work for a party of over 100 people. The service on the night could not be criticised. Not only were the waiting staff professional and efficient we had our own master of ceremony who guided us through the day in an non-obtrusive manner. Hannah Browne and the rest of the team at the Newton worked with us all (across 3 different continents) to prepare and deliver an exceptional and unforgettable day. A number of guests commented on it being the "best wedding they had ever been to." The day could not be faulted and from a bride's perspective (lets face it the most important judge), the memories are simply perfect. Highly recommended venue.

with a different wedding coordinator who left shortly afterwards. She was replaced by Hannah Browne who assisted us in the planning and arrangement of our wedding. On meeting Hannah for the first time we were extremely impressed by her positive and outgoing nature and she made us feel at ease with the daunting list of things still left to do. For the decision about food and drink The Newton offered a tasting session where we were able to sample some dishes from the menu as well as some of the wines. This was excellent as it allowed us to make informed decisions about what we wanted... and whether mashed potato would make the cut. That particular decision swung a number of times but the Newton were always happy to amend our choices.

In the lead up to the wedding everything was excellently taken care of by Hannah and the Hotel and we were not at all nervous or anxious about how it would all turn out. There were plenty of other weddings on around our date so we were allowed to come and visit to get an understanding of what the venue and room looked like so we could make some last minute tweaks if necessary.

On the day everything was superbly organised and everyone at the hotel very friendly. We knew exactly who to speak to if anything needed done but to be honest the whole day went perfectly. The food was great and there was a lot of people who enjoyed their first ever experience of haggis neeps and tatties and thought it was the best thing ever! The wine was very good as was evidenced by their being none left after the meal. The evening and everything that followed was also brilliant. The Newton is an exceptional wedding venue which I would highly recommend.

Everytime we popped in there were always samples and trial settings ready for us. Whenever there was any panic Hannahs calming way certainly put us at ease.

Mark was a fantasic master of ceremonies and if there was a problem we certainly never noticed! The whole day seemed effortless which meant we could just relax and enjoy it.

All the guests commented favourably on both the standard of service and the meal itself, which was amazing. We had several guests who stated at the hotel who thoroughly enjoyed their stay and were well looked after by the hotel staff.

We cant reccomend the Newton highly enought, they even stepped in and saved the day after a Honeymoon crisis!

especially the hog roast at night, with some of our guests having ridiculous portions. The Newton had spectacular views, and we loved the old/new theme that the hotel had, which provided us with exceptional back drops for our photos, and amazing gardens for our guests to potter about in. The rooms were great too for our guests to stay, and we had a very quirky suite for ourselves, with a spiral staircase out into a balcony.

All in all it was the best day of our lives. Helped so much by all the staff, (especially Hannah and mark)!!! Everything was hassle free, and nothing a problem at all. Loved every moment.

We were married in the Chapel as from the moment we were first shown the room we were so impressed with the character it has and it suited our numbers perfect for our ceremony. Our photos were taken on the steps at the back of the hotel and in the beautiful gardens. Our meal was in the Brodie suite which was perfect for our numbers as we had a small wedding with family and closest friends during the day. The meal was beautiful and the chef catered for everyone's requirements. All our guests are still commenting on how much they enjoyed the meal and one guest in particular has said it was the best meal they have ever had at a wedding and they have been to a few.

Mark our toastmaster for the day was excellent and could not do enough for us. Again he was very professional with a fantastic manner and wonderful sense of humour which ourselves and our guests really enjoyed.

We held our evening reception in the Highland Suite as our guests increased significantly and once again this was setup beautifully with the added surprise of a white LED dance floor hired by my mum through Highland Dancefloors. The Highland Suite was excellent as there was plenty room for our guests and the bar in the same room means guests don't have to leave the function suite for drinks and miss the music as we had the Anne Dickson band playing who we're excellent. The evening buffet again was fantastic.

To sum up our day it was perfect everything we could have imagined and more. We wish we could do it all over again as we loved every minute of our wedding at the Newton and highly recommend it to others.

finish and made sure every little detail was taken care of. I honestly felt like I had someone there planning the day with me. She had everything timed to perfection and the day ran so smoothly because of it, I really got to enjoy my day and was stress free knowing the hotel staff knew exactly what was happening and when. We got married in the back gardens, which was such a beautiful setting and our photos were taken in the grounds so we didn't have to leave to go elsewhere. The hotel has lots of rooms for guests but Nairn itself has a huge amount of hotels and B&Bs so all our guests stayed in the hotel or within walking distance. We had a large wedding of 150 day guests and an extra 50 evening. We had a choice meals with 2 choices per meal which I sent out with our invitations. We got a free tasting of all our choices and every single course was delicious. We didn't ask to change anything as we were more than happy. It was also great to know the portion size and quality of food that would be served on the day. Our wedding meal was served quickly and our guests raved about the quality of food, especially the meat. There was a quick change over from the meal to the evening reception but with the large holding area and bar, our guests did not mind leaving the room for it to be changed. Please book out enough rooms for your guests though, we made the mistake of only booking 15 rooms when really we could have filled over 30! I would also like to make a special mention of Lindsay and Rory, who were very helpful all weekend and went out of their way to make our stay extra special.

From the early stages, the planning went so smoothly and hassle free, even with experiencing a change over of wedding coordinators part of the way through. Our wedding coordinator Hannah who delt with the majority of the planning/organising was so pleasant, friendly and extremely helpful. On the day of the wedding everything went so well, and we have had an unbelievable amount of comments on how good the wedding was and how nice the newton looked on the day. The food was beautiful and when serving 109 people is a great achievment, again we had a lot of positive comments about how tasty it was. The table service was also excellent.

We could not fault our big day at the newton, it was just as we wanted it, and highly recommend the Newton to everyone when looking for a venue. :) :) :)

for us and every one of our guests thought the service and the food were second to none. Many people commented on it being the best wedding meal they have ever had. Delicious in every way and piping hot! We love that everything that we wanted - bouncy castle for the kids, post box for cards, round tables (no top table), musicians for the service etc etc etc - were all accommodated and managed in such a professional and fuss free way. Obviously the staff at the Newton are very experienced at providing this wedding service for people but at the same time they managed to make it feel special and individual for us. The Newton Hotel was the first hotel that we viewed and despite viewing many others across the north east of Scotland it was always the front runner and our initial positive feelings for the place have remained throughout our stay. I should also mention that the function areas and outside grounds are all picture perfect. We can not recommend it highly enough.

There is a very good variety of meals to choose from all of which are prepared to a high standard. Although some of our requests were slightly out of the ordinary, nothing was to much trouble for the staff and the whole event seemed second nature to them. Our guests all enjoyed the event and were very impressed with the standard of the rooms in the hotel. Due to the set up of the hotel it really felt like there were no other guests in the hotel other than our own which makes it more personal. We knew from day one that we had made the right decision choosing the Newton Hotel and fell more and more in love with the hotel each visit running up to the wedding.

co-ordinator Hannah could not have been more helpful. She puts so much time and effort into making your day that extra special and bends over backwards to give you exactly what you want. If it wasn't for Hannah, planning my wedding would have been so much more stressful.

For all the times that we went to visit the hotel whilst planning our wedding, the staff always made us feel welcome and were so friendly and helpful. One of the highlights for us when planning the wedding was the day we got to do our food tasting at the hotel. Again, we were made to feel very special and the staff put in so much time and effort into making the food and that we were more than happy with our choices. What a fantastic time we had doing that.

On the wedding day we hoped to have our ceremony outside in the beautiful grounds but unfortunately the weather didn't hold up for us and we had it inside in the chapel. I was more than happy to have the chapel as our back up as it is a beautiful room. Later on we had the wedding breakfast and evening reception in the highland suit. This was a perfect size for a large wedding like what we had. I had lots of candles and candleabras lit in the room at night and it was perfect with the small twinkling lights the hotel have in the ceiling. It felt so romantic.

I can truly say that we had the most perfect wedding day and that is mostly down to our venue. I cannot thank them enough for everything that they done to make it such a magical day for us. The Newton hotel will always hold special memories for us and we will defiantly be back for future visits.

with a couple of Highland Cattle at the front - a particular highlight for me!

Hannah, the hotel's Wedding Co-ordinator is brilliant. She is kind and enthusiastic and extremely good at dealing with any hiccups or disasters that may appear. She is the sort of calm and capable person every bride needs in the run up to your wedding!

Throughout the planning stage all the staff at the hotel were so helpful - nothing we asked was too much. They also made me feel as if our wedding was the most important thing in the world - despite having lots of other weddings on at the hotel throughout the summer. That personal experience was so important and made such a difference.

The big day itself was all that I wished it to be and more. One of the best things about the venue is that weddings are held in a wing of the hotel that is just for the wedding guests so it is as if you have the hotel all to yourself! The staff were excellent all the way through the day and ensured the day ran smoothly without a hitch. The food was particularly important for my Husband and I and it was all absolutely delicious - all of our guests have said how much they enjoyed it.

All in all I would 100% recommend the Newton Hotel as a wedding venue!

was where we chose our venue but also considered outside in the grounds as so lovely. the chapel was a little warm with all the bodies in the little room but services don't tend to last more than 30 mins max.

the food was fantastic and all staff very friendly, approachable and willing to help on our big day.

Hannah the wedding coordinator was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. always there to guide and support us towards our big day. she was great at providing contacts from bands, pipers, post boxes, ministers etc.she is very friendly an approachable and nothing was too much hassle despite organising 6 other weddings plus ours!extra chairs were provided at our request for elderly guests, choice menus were offered and the chef catered for everyone such as gluten free and providing everything we requested in our menu. the general manager (sorry forgot his name) was helpful and tried to help us in our cake dilemma when the cake toppers were too top heavy and fell off the cake and broke. and the young manager ?Ronnie was excellent in providing us with food and drink at the top table and giving us some sandwiches to eat in our room after everyone had left.

we were advised to cater for 75% of total guests for day and night for the evening buffet however ran out of sandwiches and bacon rolls so would advise to cater for a little more than this.

the highland suite which is a good size as we had a significant number attending at night.
The hotel staff particularly the duty manager were extremely attentive and ensured everything flowed. This definately made the day more relaxed and we cannot thank the team enough. Even through the planning the co-ordinator and manager were very thorough and nothing was a problem.
All in all we had a fabulous day and are delighted we chose the Newton for our wedding as it could not have gone better.

answering our long list of questions and gave us lots of information about weddings at the hotel - we felt that if we were to get married there, we would be in safe hands and our day would run smoothly - and we're delighted that was the case. In the lead up to the wedding, Hannah was amazing. It was great to know that if we had a question, we could pick up the phone or send an email and get a quick response. Hannah was always very cheerful and happy to help and every important wee detail was noted by her to make the day run smoothly. She was also happy to meet up face to face and was very flexible to meet our needs to make our day everything we wanted. She is excellent at her job and that means that a lot of stress is avoided for the Bride and Groom. We had many guests staying the night before the wedding and many commented on how lovely the staff were, introducing themselves and checking that everything was ok for them. On the morning of the wedding, the staff couldn't do enough for us, bringing breakfast to my room for me (the bride) and tea and coffee and they were always asking if they could do anything for us. We were so lucky on our day as we had beautiful sunshine and were able to get married outside in the grounds, which were stunning. Everything was set up perfectly and we had a very relaxed time getting ready. Following the ceremony, Mark led us through the day and we didn't have to think about anything - everything ran to good time due to his organisation. The waiting and bar staff provided excellent service too and this was commented on by many of the guests after the wedding. In short - the Newton is the ideal wedding venue :-)

when dealing with Hannah (events manager), she offered so many ideas, advice and guidance that we were so confident our day would be perfect...which it was! She was amazing help with absolutely everything! Thank you!
The day itself went flawlessly, Mark (master of ceremonies) was brilliant and kept the timings of the day perfectly. Everyone knew exactly where they were going and what was happening. There were no worries about anything, we were relaxed throughout the entire day. Mark's guidance for us through the day was brilliant, with a great sense of humour while being so professional. From walking down to the chapel for the ceremony to introducing us into the evening reception for our first dance he kept everything very relaxed but right on time.
We were married in the Chapel of the hotel which is stunning, high ceilings and very bright and is set out beautifully for a ceremony. Although we had the opportunity to be married outside given the gorgeous weather, we declined as we both loved the Chapel. The Highland Suite where we had our meal was amazing, so big and spacious and has patio doors right along one wall adding to the light of the room with the sun shining through. The meal itself was outstanding, I had so many of our guests commenting on how much they enjoyed it. The serving of the meal was absolutely perfect and very quick, there was no hanging about at all. The bar was very well staffed and so efficient that there was never any waiting, you went up and were served straight away. Well done to all the bar staff, great service! I would recommend the Newton Hotel to everybody about to get married, perfect venue for your perfect day!

for last minute panic as everything was taken care of fabulously!

The hotel itself was very accommodating with nice big rooms with lots of natural light (perfect for make up!). Reception room looked beautiful and again a lovely big space with plenty of room for our 127 guests at the meal! Dance floor also great size with lots of room for guests to dance. There was never any queue at the bar as the staff were so efficient and so many of them. Food was fabulous, quick service and piping hot.....not waiting around between courses which was great.

Couldnt recommend the Newton Hotel any higher, it really wont let you down as your wedding venue. Beautiful grounds for pictures so maximum time can be spent with your guests.

planning of the day which in turn meant that everything ran smoothly on the day. She also gave us great confidence that every request would be attended to and eased all of worries. We have always commented on how extremely impressed we have been with the helpfulness and politeness of all hotel staff (whether it is the cleaning staff, receptionist or waiter) and not just on our wedding day but whenever we have visited the hotel. On the day itself, Mark who was in charge, of overseeing the wedding was an absolute dream. He kept us completely on schedule and fully informed with what was happening throughout the entire day and accommodated our every request. Our meal was excellent, faultless to be honest. The bridal suite in which we stayed for a couple of days is a superb room, and the room provided for us to get ready in earlier on in the day was a great size (5 of us got ready in it no bother) and it also allowed us to watch the guests arriving without them seeing us which was lovely. All in all our day was everything we hoped for and far, far more (apart from the lack of snow!) and we cannot thank the staff at the Newton Hotel enough.

process, and the Hotel were very accommodating when it came to our preferences and choices. There were no hitches leading up the day itself, and the hotel kept in contact right up until the day to make sure there were no last minute hitches or glitches.

On the day itself, I really cant find words to express how smoothly it all went - the Hotel staff were phenomenal. The Hotel provided the host for day, Mark Layburn, and to say everything went with military precision is an understatement, he was simply incredible! All our guests commented on how relaxed and organised the venue felt, and Mark made sure everything ran like clockwork - there was absolutely no stress at all on the day - he dealt with the reception room decor, guests arrival after the church service and the serving of our wedding breakfast so impressively. The food was absolutely delicious, piping hot and the portions were huge which made for some very happy guests! Again, the service staff, under Mark's direction, were impeccable and everyone got their meal very quickly. We had lots of comments from our guests too on how wonderful their rooms were, comfortable large beds and lovely decor, in a fantastic setting.

I would not hesitate to recommend the Newton to anyone getting married, it would be my first choice over and over again - I could not fault it on anything - fantastic service, warm friendly welcome and beautiful surroundings - the Newton didn't disappoint on anything. Its a great choice for a wedding, and you wouldn't regret it! We have wonderful memories of our wedding day, and our choice of venue was certainly a huge part of that.
