As a new member of the Rosevine team, Scott's enthusiasm and openness surrounding the menus was infectious. The options Scott presented to us far exceeded any previous menu options that we had been given from the Rosevine and other venues. The time that Scott spent with us in making sure the meals were to our exact specifications showcased what a diligent, creative and considerate chef he is. One of our guests was a chef at a high-end restaurant in Cornwall and they could not praise Scott's cooking enough. We appreciate the challenge that the menu created for Scott in terms of technicality and time pressures, all of which he excelled with and more. There were a wide range of dietary requirements and severe allergies to contend with as well, and Scott managed these with ease and we were fully assured that he had taken every effort to remove any risk. He is an incredible asset to the team and we cannot wait to return for many future dinners.
While we predominantly dealt with Becca and Scott, it is also important to note other staff members, such as Narita, Lewis, Emily, Nigel and the lovely South African couple who did the BBQ for us on the Friday night. They each stood out for different reasons, but a constant from all of them was their friendly, polite and respectful manner. This provided all guests with a feeling of homeliness and camaraderie, which is not often found in hotel venues and would be hard to come by.
In a time when staff retention is problematic to say the least (as nurses and teachers, we see this in our industry, so can only imagine the hardship hospitality has faced), it is a credit to you that you have managed to maintain such a passionate, driven and professional team. When we originally booked our date with you, previous senior managers left the hotel and all our correspondence and details of prior planning were lost. However, when Becca stepped into the role, she showed such reliability and immediately put us at ease. Her communication with us since our original meeting was nothing short of exemplary, and we will forever appreciate the amount of time she put in inside and outside of her working hours to accommodate us. As managers ourselves, we understand it is too easy to become distracted with your own workloads and not recognise those you line manage who truly deserve commending. We hope you recognise what a valuable member of staff Becca is to you and the Rosevine as her planning, organising and delivery of the entire event was second to none. Becca is worth her weight in gold and we hope to see her for years to come when we visit the Rosevine for future anniversaries. Our wedding would not have been the same if not for her tenacity, quick-wit and complete dedication, and the Rosevine would not be the same without her.
You have a fantastic team at the Rosevine and their efforts should not go unnoticed. We had the most idyllic weekend and your team played an integral part of it.
Please be sure to pass on our gratitude and feedback to the team as you see fit.
Kind regards,
Teigan Cocker and James Midda
