Denbighshire is a county located in north east Wales. It has a short coastline on the Irish Sea to the north and is a historical county believed to date back to Neanderthal times, over 225,000 years ago. A recent archaeological dig in 2021 found stone age tools at Rhuddlan. Tourism and Agriculture are the main economic activities in Denbighshire which suggest it's bound to be a picturesque place with lots of photo opportunities. Destinations of note include The Marine Lake at Rhyl, Castell Dinas Bran - a castle on a rocky outcrop above Llangollen, and the Horseshoe Falls, part of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site. The county also boasts the Upper Dee Valley which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The county is served in the north by rail line westward to Holyhead for ferries to Ireland or the Isle of Man or eastward toward Chester, with access to motorways there. The North Wales Expressway also covers this route. The A5 passes through the South of the county.
