Edinburgh & The Lothians
Made up of Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian, Edinburgh & The Lothians is a compact area with more diversity than you may think. The cultural, historical, and financial capital of Scotland, Edinburgh is bursting with food, nightlife, and venues.. The Lothians surrounding Edinburgh aren’t just suburbs; with lush countryside and lovely scenery of the Firth of Forth and the Lammermuir Hills, they are great locations in their own right. East Lothian boasts 40 miles of stunning coastline and some of the best beaches in Scotland; Midlothian has the beautiful parkland of Dalkeith Country Park, and West Lothian is great for finding the perfect castle to facilitate your wedding. All of these regions have roughly the same climate: Highs of 19° in July and August, and lows of 1° in December, January and February, with April having the lowest rainfall for the year. With all the connections a capital city has, you’ll have no trouble getting here: Edinburgh Airport is the busiest in Scotland, and the M8, M9 and A1 are all important motorways going straight into Edinburgh.
