Capability Brown was a world renowned landscape architect and gardener. And, Grace Darling, a victorian heroine who risked her life to rescue survivors of the wrecked steamship Forfarshire at just 22 years of age. Places of historical significance abound in this county. Places such as Bamburgh Castle, the holy Island of Lindisfarne, Hadrian’s Wall, and Alnick Castle is the real Hogwarts in the movies.
