Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire, about an hour’s west of London, has possibly one of the greatest collection of historic churches, castles, and chapels anywhere in Great Britain. If you’re planning a classic wedding, in a grand setting, Oxford, named the City of Dreaming Spires, famous as a seat of education, and strangely, also famous for marmalade, is an amazing choice. Contrary to its historic background, you’ll find Oxford to be a modern and welcoming town. The town of Banbury is set right in the middle of the lush Cherwell Valley to the north of the shire, and to the west, part of the Cotswolds awash with beautiful manors and country houses around Minster Lovell and Burford. To the southeast, Oxfordshire borders onto the Chiltern hills, with some of the finest landscapes in England - rich farmland, birch forests and waterways. With a typical Southern climate, Oxfordshire has average winter temperatures of 7-8° and average summer temperatures of 19-23°. Oxfordshire is easily accessible by road: Take the M40 from London, or the dozens of major roads that pass through. 90 minutes by car is London Heathrow, and Birmingham International Airport is only an hour away.
