Once famous as a resort, Runcorn has more recently been famous as the setting for Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. While there are plenty of places to get a pint, few are more unusual than the pub inside the town’s ancient Halton Castle overlooking the Mersey. Situated on the Mersey and the Weaver rivers, Runcorn is bisected by charming canals and boasts several parks of outstanding natural beauty.
