Stirling

Stirling is a royal burgh and historic county of Stirlingshire located in south central Scotland situated on the right bank of the River Forth. In the heart of Scotland, Stirling is home to two of the country’s best known landmarks, Stirling Castle and the National Wallace Monument. Often compared with Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle is visible from miles around the city located on a craggy volcanic rock which offers various walks around the castle and walks down the “Top of the Town” which leads you to The Church of the Holy Rude. The Church of the Holy Rude is the historic Parish Church of Stirling for over 900 years. The graveyard offers picturesque views of Stirling Castle. The city centre has walkways, excellent shops, pubs, and restaurants. The Stirling Arcade in King Street is currently restored as a 19th-century shopping gallery, home to independent stores, fashion boutiques, and cafes. Stirling University is situated near the Wallace Monument at the foot of the Ochil Hills where historically William Wallace, Scotland’s National Hero led his troops to victory during The Battle of Stirling Bridge.
