Wedding Attire
“I bought my dress at Beautiful day Bridal cottage, Greysteel, Derry and it was just beautiful it was my Grace Kelly dress as I affectionately refer to it and I never felt so beautiful as I did wearing it on our special day.”
“My husband was dressed by TOMORROWS in Derry city and I would highly recommend them and Thomas really knows what he is doing so I would trust him. My husband looked very dashing.”
The Photographer
“Our photographer was Shea Deighan and he was amazing, on our wedding day it lashed out of the heavens, none stop I kid you not for one of the best summers in over 25 years on our wedding day it rained literally none stop, Shea was fantastic and so so so patient, he was a complete gentleman and has a lovely disposition and everyone felt totally comfortable with him. Shea introduced himself to our priest prior to our ceremony and asked permission to be present which I thought was lovely. He discussed with us what type of photos we would like from group to singles things you don’t think about. He sorted it all out. We found Shea to be exceptionally professional and have seen his work before and know his standard is very high. Would recommend to anyone.”
Memorable Moments
“Seeing the look on my husband to be’s face as I stood at the end of the chapel getting ready to receive me I was filled with love, joy and excitement.”
The Wedding Venue
“We wanted to keep everything local and had heard great reviews from friends and family about how great The White Horse is, we visited and met with Kimberly and Selina and were very impressed at their presentation of themselves and The White Horse. We had been in The White Horse on other occasions and always found the staff highly professional while maintaining an authentic friendliness which is so very important.”
“Very difficult to narrow it down as there were so many aspects, from the minute you arrive at The White Horse you are greeted with a smile and acknowledged straight away. The White Horse was perfect for us as we were looking for an intimate wedding with family and close friends and from beginning to end we got it all, from Kimberly dealing with all the details which allowed us to be free of worry, Kimberly went through everything with us and discussed the type of wedding we were looking for and we got it all and more. Noel the chef produced a mouth-watering award winning spectacular menu which we had sampled before our wedding. The guests reported many oohs and ahhs at this beautiful and very very tasty meal. I feel the care, time and attention to every little detail was addressed by Kimberly and all the wonderful staff at The White Horse. Kimberly recommended the Hudson blue band and the dancefloor was full from beginning to end they were brilliant. We had a truly beautiful wedding day, from beginning to end and having our reception at The White Horse was a decision well made and we would highly recommend them.”
Trends & Themes
“We had a traditional Catholic wedding and our main focus was on the sacrament so I guess you could say a traditional theme.”
Special Thoughts
“Syenna in Eglinton was where I got my hair and make -up done, what can I say they did a fantastic job and I also had all my family and girlfriends there getting their hair and make done. Syenna closed the doors for me and I had the whole salon reserved for me and my guests. We had a champagne breakfast and we were looked after 100%, we had fun and I felt very relaxed and all the girls were fantastic. I was very impressed with all the makeup and hair which lasted the whole day.”
“Our florist was local too and they were called Quiggs and the flowers were beautiful, again they discussed with us what we wanted and gave advice, and tips and listened to us and produced beautiful flowers for the bride, groom, wedding party and church.”
“We used 1st Choice as our wedding cars and got a stretch limo, champagne on hand and a lovely chauffeur would highly recommend.”
Bridal Advice
“Attention to detail in the small things really are the big things. My advice enjoys your special day and smile and don’t get hung up on frivolous unimportant things that no one will remember.”
