When it comes to facial cleansing, there are many schools of thought. From old fashioned soap and warm water to the latest fad creams and of course not to mention the high end beauty counter products, the possibilities are endless. Here are a few tips on how to wash your face!
Preparing Your Face
Before you begin, move all of your hair from your face with a headband or clip. After this, it’s crucial to wash your hands and wipe down a few things that you come into contact everyday, like your phone.
For most, twice a day washing is enough. But for those who are in hot climates or who have oily skin, you may feel comfortable cleaning your skin when you get home. When searching for your cleanser, take into account how sensitive your skin may be.
For best results, warm and tepid water is perfect. Hot water will dry your skin. After cleansing, cool water will close your pores.
Method
Just a dollop of cleanser on your palm should be enough to clean your face well. If your face is quite sensitive, skip the facecloth and wash with your hands with a light touch in gentle circular motions. Never scrub your face, even if it is tempting!
Eyes will need special care, especially as this skin is the most sensitive. For simplicity, many make up can be removed with water or Vaseline.
Drying Your Face
The best way to dry your face is to gently pat it down with a clean towel. After drying, wait about five minutes to apply moisturizers as not to irritate the skin.
