When it comes to great weddings, we’re always curious to see what goes into a great wedding venue. Wyboston Lakes is a stunning example, located at the edge of the historic town of St Neots just between Cambridge and Milton Keynes.
We caught up with Nicola from this gorgeous hotel for a behind-the-scenes look at what makes Wyboston Lakes so amazing. When speaking of the location, Nicola mentions that “guests travel from near and far to our venue and are always truly amazed with our offering and attention to detail. With 365 acres of beautiful countryside and stunning lakeside setting, it really sets the scene for every occasion, creating memories that last a lifetime.”
When speaking about bridal trends for 2014, Nicola mentions how quirky couples are becoming in terms of trends: “We are finding are guests are breaking with tradition and are choosing different things like a BBQ, afternoon tea canapés, or Jägerbombs as their toast drink! I like the fact that people are putting their own stamp on their weddings and not doing what they are ‘supposed to do’ because it’s a wedding …” She also mentioned how one of their brides will be having a VW Beetle as a photo booth – how cool is that?
When it comes to what couples love about Wyboston Lakes, Nicola has plenty of reasons! “Couples love the variety of leisure activities around site including the beautiful Y Spa and the 18 hole golf course, which are popular choices for unwinding before the big day! The flexibility of Wyboston Lakes is another ‘wow’ factor especially because couples choose their wedding breakfast from different menus according to their budget. Our award-winning chefs create stunning canapés, starters, main courses and desserts with incredible attention to detail; it’s hard for me to pick my favourite dish! We also pride ourselves as a very caring and dedicated wedding team who are with the bride and groom every step of the way to making their dream day come true.”
Nicola also mentions that they cater to a wide range of ceremonies from their beautiful conservatory holding up to 65 people to their stunning ceremony room with a hidden courtyard that holds up to 250 people.
Leading up to the wedding is a busy time for Wyboston Lakes but Nicola assures us they love every bit of the process: “I love ensuring all the small (important) details happen so the bride and groom can relax and enjoy every moment of their special day. The little details are my favourite part, I love making sure all the sashes are tied the same and that the quirky straws for the drinks reception they gave to me (and I have been keeping safe) are put out. They have spent months (years in some cases) planning all this and to be a part of it is really special.”
