Avoid makeup meltdown with these simple summer beauty tips!
Foundation
Glowing skin is totally in, but if you suffer from extra oil shine-free makeup is the way to go! If your skin tends to get a little greasy, opt for oil-free products. This includes moisturizer! Whether you have oily or normal to dry skin, it’s a good idea to prep the skin with a moisturizer best suited to your skin type. For extra long-lasting makeup, prime, prime, prime! Next, apply an oil-free foundation (or matte formula if you’re extra oily) then set it with a translucent powder.
Eyes
Everyone’s eyelids are different, meaning some women have all the luck with lasting eye makeup while others find their makeup melting off in minutes. If you’re someone that finds it more difficult to keep a look going all day or night, it’s not a bad idea to prime to eyes before applying eyeshadow with an eyeshadow primer or concealer. If your lids are extra greasy, you can apply a mattifying primer and then concealer on top to lock those lids!
Don’t forget to stay away from creamy formulas that will cake and crease on your eyes throughout the day. If you’re using a liner, liquid stays put much better than most pencils, and even if you’re not much of a crier a waterproof mascara can help your eye look stand up against the summer heat.
Blush
Unfortunately, heat has a way of making that beautiful blush disappear into our skin. Again, it’s important to stay away from creamy formulas that can melt away or transfer easily. Instead, opt for a cheek stain or a soft powder blush that will help absorb excess oil. Don’t forget to set the whole face with a setting spray once your look is complete!!!
Lips
You’ll be kissing, chatting, sipping champagne, and smiling your way through the day! First, be sure to prep that pout with a moisturizing lip balm so your lip pencil and lipstick glide on flawlessly. Then blend your lipliner over your lips, not just around the edges. This creates an extra base for your lipstick and a more seamless blend of shades. Next, the lipstick of course! Once your lipstick is in place blot the excess away with a tissue ( this may not need to be done if you’re using a liquid lipstick).
If you prefer a more natural look, a light stain or gloss is the perfect alternative for a summer bridal look.
The Emergency kit
You’re going to need touch-ups! In the summer heat and with all the excitement and emotion of the day you’re bound to have a little meltdown. Be sure to put together an emergency kit with some blotting papers, setting powder, lipstick, a little concealer, or anything else you think you might need to keep looking you bridal best. Give this to your mom or a trusted bridesmaid that won’t misplace it through the busy day. It never hurts to be overprepared!
