When most brides think ‘weddings’, their mind at some point usually drifts off to that all important dress. And, whether you’re engaged, single or married for years, the idea of ‘the dress’ is something that every woman is fascinated about. Of course there are hundreds of wedding dress designers that we in love with but if we had to narrow it down, we’d pick three (this was no easy task by the way!). Here are some of are all time favourite wedding dress designers.
Vera Wang
Former figurer skater and New York native Vera Wang can do no wrong in our eyes. She’s well known for her wide range of haute couture bridesmaids gowns and wedding gown pieces as well as a clientele of elite lady figure skaters. Vera Wang was also a senior editor for Vogue in the 1970’s after being turned down for the position that Anna Wintour how holds. Seriously, is there anything this woman can’t do?
Sarah Burton
Although Sarah Burton wasn’t a household name pre 2011, she has managed to design the wedding dress of our generation. For the Princess Diana years, it was romantic puffy sleeves and an incredibly long train that summed up our iconic vision of the perfect dress. But for us, it will now and forever more be lace and elegant long sleeves. Sarah Burton’s creation is like a super charged Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Liz Taylor wedding gown with a kick of contemporary style. So accessible to many other body types, if this dress becomes the staple look for the next decade, we won’t be in the least bit surprised.
Monique L’Huillier
To us, Monique Lhuillier is a designer who just ‘gets’ brides. Although she is a fashion designer, she is mostly known for her bridal wear. Monique’s bridal journey began when searching for her own dress in 1995, where she was surprised at the lack of fashionable pieces for bridal options. With a real affinity for evening gowns and bridal wear, she decided to launch her own collection in 1996. Since then, her pieces have been sought after by many celebrities for bridal and red carpet pieces.
