Planning a wedding can often seem a little daunting at first, especially if you’ve never had any experience. That is why asking wedding experts can really help! We were lucky enough to get some insider tips from Dorota, Wedding Coordinator at Legacy Hog’s Back Hotel.
Dorota starts off by mentioning that “newly engaged couples should start planning the big day at least a year and a half in advance if they are thinking about a Sunday or weekend wedding.” Noting that it’s important to do this if you really want a particular venue, reception, photographer or ceremony. She also mentions a new trend is becoming more and more common.”Friday, Sunday and mid-week weddings are becoming very popular as an option to Saturday. Many people start to plan Wedding up to 2 years ahead but it’s becoming more common for bookings 6 months ahead.”
When it comes to keeping calm during the wedding day, Dorota says knowledge is power. Being “well informed throughout the day is a surprising step to having fun. I always have a contact for the day that is not the Bride or Groom so that any small things can be dealt with without disturbing the Bride and Groom.” Usually the couples are most worried about timing, “I find that most couples worry about having enough time in the day to fit in all the festivities.”
She also mentions that letting loose on the dance floor is a definite way to enjoy the day. “I think that The Twist by Chubby Checker should be played at every wedding as it is guaranteed to get all the guests on the dance floor!”
