Around this time every year we get super excited. Not only is it a chance to see all the best of Hollywood’s glamorous in one spot; it’s the perfect opportunity to find some wedding dress inspiration (or even guest inspiration).
The WeddingDates team members fought long hard over who would make the cut this year, here are the best and worst dressed (in our humble opinion of course) on Oscar Night.
Jennifer Lawrence
Although poor J-Law had another mini-spill this year (this time on the red carpet), she absolutely killed it in Dior. It’s possible that Dior may not be her good luck charm when it comes to grace, but she does manage look stunning in this simple peplum dress. AND, we love the jewellery detail with the neck and back.
Lupita Nyong’o
The Kenya native looks simply stunning in this Tiffany blue custom Prada dress. Lupita reminds us of an ethereal fairy in this gown. So simple, but striking when put with her skin tone.
Kate Hudson
Taking 40’s Hollywood glam to a contemporary chic level we didn’t even know existed, everything about Kate’s look is perfect. What else but Atelier Versache could she be wearing… sublime!
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga shocked everyone by not shocking everyone! The star was old school Hollywood glam in her pink metallic gown by Versace… Stunning.
Sandra Bullock
In a navy Alexander McQueen gown that took our breath away. With side-swept curls, this Oscar-winner completes her classic look with effortless style.
Emma Watson
Gorgeous and elegant, Emma Watson is grown-up and gorgeous in Vera Wang. A cut above the rest, Emma’s look is a lot more contemporary than many of the vintage styled gowns that are often seen on the red carpet. Stunning and refreshing!
And The Worst Dressed…
Not that we can say there were many fashion blunders this year, if we had to pick a worst dressed, it would be Anna Kendrick’s piece from J. Mendel. While there is nothing ‘wrong’ with the piece, it just seems very busy. The over the shoulder strap pieced with a sheer neck line, the cut-out sheer pattern waist line, the a-symmetrical skirt – there is so much going on! It’s somehow also a little bland in black at the exact same time.
