We have a treat for you this lovely spring day! We love nothing more than hearing the story of a couple in love. We may be die-hard romantics at heart but this is a story that would warm anyone up! So sit back, make yourself a cup of something warm and enjoy the lovely story of Ruth and Mark’s day at Wyboston Lakes.
The stunning scenery is what drew this couple to Wyboston Lakes first. “The lakes and the hotel décor is simply stunning. Beautiful large windows draw in so much light into the ceremony room and the breakfast room”, mentioned Ruth. Mark agreed adding that they fell in love with the layout of the building.
Mark and Ruth met at a bar in Hitchin just at the end of March in 2012. Ruth mentions they nearly didn’t have that first date as she was unwell but decided go ahead anyway.
The lovebirds knew they were meant to be and in April 2013, Mark popped the question “whilst we were at the Full Moon Party in Koh Phangan in Thailand,” says Ruth. Mark mentioned that “it was a whirlwind first 12 months together. We went away together on a wonderful trip to Thailand. It seemed like the perfect setting to propose with a 100baht (£2) ring!” Ruth chimed in that she made sure the ring was upgraded!
When mentioning her dress, Ruth said “it’s funny how the first dress you often look at is often the one you choose!” After visiting 4 bridal shops, she went back to Morgan Davies in Hitchin, “who were amazing and so helpful.”
Ruth loves her wedding photography and mentions one as her favourite: “Mark walking into the Ceremony room – natural shot, the men holding me horizontal on the grass, looking at my bouquet on my dress on the grass, and of course the group shot – everyone waving! But so many more! Even the photobooth pic’s are superb – funny and show everyone’s personalities.”
As for their favourite moment of the day, both Ruth and Mark had fond memories: “We had a small amount of time after our photos and before the wedding breakfast. This time was fab, free time to move about with our friends and families, no pressure, to enjoy some precious moments…. “, Ruth recalled.
Both Mark and Ruth gave a huge thanks to the team at Wyboston Lakes and Nicola Sandalance in particular: “Nicola is so friendly and organized the whole planning and actual day went like a dream. She was an absolute pleasure to plan with!”
A huge thank you to the team at Wyboston Lakes and our couple Ruth and Mark for sharing this lovely day with us as well as K J Durbin Photography for sharing their wedding photos
