The sweetest story ever…
If you’ve seen some of our other Real Wedding Blogs, then you know that we usually give the couple and their wedding a nice little introduction. Well, this bride’s story was just way too heartwarming not to share, and to be honest there’s no way that I could have told it better. You can really see from her retelling of the day and the whole planning process that A LOT of love went into creating their special day.
Inspo Alert: Take a good look at the beautiful images from Vanessa and Chris’s vintage boho wedding. I really loved the photos that the bride and groom captured with just the two of them…the perfect intimate moments to treasure for a lifetime.
Vanessa + Chris
Chris… A Country boy, the most genuine man, the type of guy every girl would wish to become her husband. Vanessa… A City girl, an Event manager from Melbourne, Chris’s first girlfriend at the age of 26.
“Every day I wake up, walk into the bathroom and there it is on the bench, he put’s toothpaste on my toothbrush everyday… A fresh towel hangs over the shower for me to use, another thoughtfully placed item from Chris. In the kitchen, a cup of tea is on the bench for me… These are little things, but it’s the little things that make me fall in love with him over and over again…”
“I was always planning other people’s Weddings, always the wedding planner never the bride… then one December evening Chris asked me to spend the rest of my life with him!”
“Suddenly I was planning my own Wedding, there was pressure as an Event Planner for our Wedding to be perfect.
After over a year of planning our Vintage/Boho Wedding, the day finally arrived, the weather was a perfect 26 degrees, I felt calm and relaxed, no nerves just pure excitement for the day ahead. We wrote each other a card to read that morning, it was sweet to have some words from each other to read before we met at the aisle.”
“My dad passed some years before, I had my shoes made in London to include something old, new, borrowed and blue. The final touch to my shoes was a broach with a photo of my dad on his Wedding day so he could still walk me down the aisle when he was no longer with us to do it in person. I walked down the aisle to a live acoustic cover of can’t help falling in love by Elvis Presley, my dad’s favourite song.”
“I started the walk down the aisle, I felt happy to finally see him and have him see me, he looked so handsome. I stood at the altar and looked around, I was in awe, everything we had planned for over a year had come together perfectly. The vintage suitcases, the organic greenery, his boys, my girls, the lace just wow, everything was perfect!”
“We ordered over 1000 metres of fairy lights for our reception, the room was so pretty and elegant with vintage lace tablecloths and fairy light curtains draping the room, wood slices as centrepieces with jars of boho flowers and tealight candles.”
“Chris and I made time that night during the reception to have photos taken, we had a moment being together just the two of us with our reception in the background overlooking everything we had worked so hard to achieve over the past year. These are some of my favourite photos.”
