Tradition has officially been thrown out the window! Here are five rules modern wedding couples are making their own.
Wearing White
Colour is back with a bang. Wedding dress trends are edging towards more unconventional styles and we wholeheartedly embrace the move. This is a great option for brides-to-be who are hoping to introduce a fleck of their own personality to their proceedings. Over the past 18 months, blush gowns have been huge thanks to designer Hayley Paige, and we predict rich red dresses and dark hues to reign during autumn/winter.
The First Look
Whoever said seeing your other half before the ceremony brings bad luck eh? The first look photography session is becoming increasingly popular and can prove a beautifully intimate moment for the couple to treasure ahead of walking up the aisle.
The Bride’s Parents Pay For The Wedding
Unlike the past, where the bride’s parents were expected to foot the bill, many modern couples are now saving to pay for the occasion themselves. It all depends on the individual couple and their family’s financial situation. There’s certainly no need to worry about adding the burden on your own parents, just do what’s right for you.
You Must Invite Plus-Ones
We feel your pain! Every wedding couple is faced with this predicament, and we all know those dreaded plus-ones can treble your guest list in the blink of an eye. It’s totally okay to veto the plus-one rule in particular circumstances. For instance, when inviting old college pals or work colleagues. Adding a plus-one ban to these groups is a no-brainer, especially if you don’t know their partners very well. They are guaranteed to enjoy the craic better when it’s just themselves anyway.
Ceremony Seating Must Be Separated
You know the drill! Choose a seat, not a side. We’re all family once the knot is tied!
