Everyone knows, planning a wedding is a piece of cake. Just kidding, we all know the path to your perfect wedding is paved with a few bumps and twists. But, what come with these twists are a few important lessons you might learn about yourself. Here is what you will learn about yourself from planning a wedding.
How You Cope With Stress
This is an interesting one. Most brides would probably say they would never fall under the “Bridezilla” clichéd category, but, it’s easy to see how any person (even a groom) could. There is so much pressure on you and your day to run perfectly; and this is a kind of intensity that not everyone will be used to. Not sure about you, but I have noticed that if I don’t feel good about how I look/feel, I get a little snippy – and that is just one aspect to the day! The good news is that planning a wedding is a good opportunity to learn how you can work better under pressure.
How You Delegate
Do you find it easy to share your tasks out to your bridal party and follow up with them (while not being nasty about it)? Or do you hate having to rely on someone else to get something finished and prefer to have it how you like it done? Learning if you can delegate tasks is not just a good lesson to learn from wedding planning, but it’s important to learn for other areas in your life (relationships, work, and everyday tasks).
How You Work Together as a Team
Learning to manage a big scale budget, organise and agree on decisions is no small request – it does take team-work! If you can do all of this successfully, you can work together as a team. Sure, there may be ups and downs but it’s an amazing life lesson that will bring you closer together!
