Yay! It’s the August bank holiday weekend – usually the excuse for a well deserved break. If you are planning a London trip this Bank Holiday weekend, here are some events worth checking out.
Real Food Market
Head to Southbank Centre this weekend where typical stalls with scrumptious food focused on small producers, ethically sustained and produced food and independent traders. If you’re passing by for a little shop of snack amazing options include Spanish churros and chocolate, blue cheese organic burgers and Moroccan chicken dishes. With affordable dishes and hearty options under a tenner, this is a fantastic date idea.
Notting Hill Carnival
The Notting Hill Carnival has been a part of London since the ‘60s and in the last few years has transformed into a colourful event attracting locals and tourists alike with floats, lively music, alfresco dancing and Caribbean food stalls serving up jerk chicken and fried plantain. Sunday 24th and Monday 25th, is a great opportunity for some family friendly fun with a carnival and parade.
Camden Beach
Installed on the venue terrace of the Roundhouse on Chalk Farm Road, Camden Beach is your own private little island in the middle of the big smoke. Deck chairs, beach huts and a fully stocked bar are all you will need to relax this weekend.
