Welcome to another Beauty Treats, where we uncover the tips and tricks for getting that bridal glow! This week we’re looking at one of the most important aspects to most brides- wedding day make-up. Maybe you’re a veteran to pro make-up sessions with a make-up artists or you shudder at the though of skin tests at the Clinique stand in Brown Thomas but either way you will most likely be wearing make-up on your big day.
Here are a few tips to get you started!
Always do a Trial Run
A few weeks before the wedding head down to your make-up artist and get a trial run. Maybe you’re convinced you want a smokey eyed look- getting your trial run will insure that you know you’re happy with the look. Try getting a few friends to take photos with the look on so you can see how it may look on camera. If possible, try getting the make-up done on a morning that you have free so you can see how the make-up wears off during the day.
Make Sure You Have The Right Shades in Your Touch-up Kit
You may not have the lipstick shade that your make up artist is using, ask him/her to give you a list of every product they applied. They may also be able to give you the actual product itself. Bonus Tip: Ask your artists how long each product usually lasts during the day so that you can decide which ones you’ll need to touch up the most.
Don’t Stray Too Far From The Everyday You
If you don’t like to layer on eyeliner, keep to your natural look. The idea of bridal make-up is that it is supposed to be the best version of you, not a different one! If you have signature looks do play them up on your wedding day. Just be mindful of crazy make-up fads. Although Priscilla looks amazing, she herself admits to regretting the full on look.
