Supermodel Tyra Banks swears by it and women around the world love the beauty treat on their lips: Vaseline (or petroleum jelly if you don’t want to stick to brands).
Here at WeddingDates we love Vaseline because it has countless different uses, it’s compact and it’s cheap. It can be used as part of a salt scrub or added to you lips for a quick chic touch up. But the real reason we love vaseline is because it’s so great for your skin! It’s a fantastic moisturizer after having a chapped cold winter. And it’s perfect to prepare you for that wedding glow all over. Here are a few ways Vaseline can improve your skin.
Hands
Your skin naturally has a mixture of oils and water but can often become dry from too much hand washing or with common skin problems such as eczema. Your hands can also be prone to skin irritation simply because they are nearly constantly exposed to elements. If you find your hands are a little bit dry before your wedding day why not rub a small amount of jelly to them until it soaks in before bed time.
Feet
Distressed with cracked and dry feet? Skip the pedicure and head for a jar of petroleum jelly and an old pair of socks. Smooth a thin layer of ointment on the top and bottom of each foot and pop your socks on before going to bed (your socks will keep you from getting Vaseline on the sheets). When you wake up in the morning you should find the hard skin has softened and the cracks should disappear.
Eyes
A great mascara is important but leading up to your big day you want to get the most out of your lashes. Try ditching the mascara a few weeks before your big day and instead lubricate them with Vaseline. Experts claim that applying lubricants to your lashes develops eyelash growth. As eyelashes can also get dry at times, it’s a great tool to keep them keep them moisturized as well as stimulating growth. For the big day, apply vaseline as your mascara prep to really make your lashes pop.
Did you know that Vaseline can also make for fantastic eye makeup remover? Brilliant for rainy faced makeup disasters, keep a small tub your purse for emergency situations.
