Brigid Halton and Ian Jacobs got married on the 21st June 2014. Their ceremony was held in the Tylney Hall Gazebo and the reception took place in the stunning Tylney Hall Hotel, Mattingley Suite. The intimate gathering had 27 guests and was a really loving family celebration.
Why did you choose this reception venue?
As most of our families and guests were travelling from abroad we decided to choose Hampshire as our venue as that is where we met many years ago. I found Tylney Hall using the WeddingDates website and after our viewing we were certain we had found our perfect venue. One of our search criteria was to find a venue that could cater for the ceremony outdoors.
Did you have a wedding theme?
We didn’t have a theme as such but butterflies did play a part in our day.
What did you serve your guests?
Our welcome drinks were Pimms and orange juice accompanied by olives, nuts and crisps.
What table favours did you give your guests?
We had a selection of seeds, some Forget Me Nots, and butterfly bubbles.
What was your favourite moment of your big day?
As the weather was so perfect we were able to stay outside for the entire afternoon until it was time to sit down to eat, during that time there were so many moments that I can still remember vividly but I think my favourite was just after the ceremony seeing how all of our guests had connected having only met for the first time.
Do you have any tips for brides-to-be?
Definitely do not stress about the small stuff, take time for yourself the morning of the wedding, if even only for half an hour. Go with your own instincts and maybe not take too much advice! Most of all enjoy every second of the day like we did.
What was your something old, something new, something borrowed and something new?
- Old – a ring
- New – my dress
- Borrowed – my Mums bracelet
- Blue – my toenails painted blue
A huge thanks to Brigid and Ian for sharing their big day with us. We wish the happy couple all the best for their future. Check out the Tylney Hall Hotel, Hampshire wedding venue for your special day.
