How adorable is the little flower in the image above?! There is nothing quite as adorable as a little flower girl dressed up on a wedding day. There are so many gorgeous flower girl dresses available in boutiques and on the high street now I’m beginning to wonder if they have almost as good a choice as the brides! Well not quite yet..
Once you have your little lady chosen and asked both her parents and of course her herself if she would like to be a part of your wedding, the dress hunting begins! Some brides may ask the little girls parents to source her dress if she is feeling under pressure with time and has a lot to do. I would try take a few hours with your flower girl and bring her to try on some flower girl dresses you had your eye on, it’s all the fun of it!
There is something special about a wedding where the couple already have children therefore they play their own part in their parent or parents special day. If you have a young daughter or son I am sure you have already began thinking about making them your flower girl or ring bearer! If your flower girl is a niece or nephew or a family friend make sure you arrange opportunities for them to spend time with you and the bridal party before the wedding day. She will be spending a lot of time with the bridesmaids in particular at the rehearsal and of course before the wedding ceremony so it is important she feels comfortable.
When you are choosing a dress for your flower girls, make sure it is something she will feel comfortable in. The day will be long and the last thing you and your guests want is an unhappy child the morning of the wedding! Make sure the dress fits correctly and isn’t too long to avoid any accidents when walking up the aisle. One more tip, have your flower girl’s parents sit towards the top of the church. Seeing them as she walks up the aisle smiling back at her should settle any nerves she might have!
