If decision-making isn’t your forte, choosing a season to say I Do can be totally mind-boggling!! And it’s about to get a whole lot harder, because Combermere Abbey looks simply magical throughout every stage of the year. Think how beautiful those wedding photos will look…
Spring
During spring the estate enjoys a fresh vitality as buds unfurl, and pale blossoms dress the maze and carpet the lawns. By late spring, early summer, the native bluebell woods on the estate are sprinkled with fragrant star- like flowers creating a sensational and vivid backdrop for couples’ wedding portraits.
Don’t miss their fantastic offer for March & April 2016! Save £1300 on venue hire prices and get a complimentary ‘first night’ stay in the romantic and secluded Gothic Gatehouse ‘Stone Lodge’. Package includes exclusive use of both The Glasshouse and The Walled Garden Pavilion, in the Abbey’s Victorian Walled Gardens and the estate’s own Classic Car, a 1927 Crossley for use on the estate only, for just £4500.
Summer
As the summer days lengthen, the borders deepen in colour with large, heady blooms scenting the air and The Rose Garden is simply heavenly. At this peak of the year, brides can take advantage of several areas licensed for outdoor wedding ceremonies, such as The Arbour and the heart of the Fruit Tree Maze itself.
Autumn
Come autumn, the maze is at its finest, laden with rosy-red apples, blushing pears, and shiny dark berries, with trees provide contrasting splashes of rich yellows, russets and burgundy within the surrounding woodlands.
Winter
Winter brings its own pared-back beauty. In the Abbey’s formal grounds, the architecture of Gothic ironwork, frosted hedges and seed heads gleam in the pale light, and skeletal trees frame the gardens with their ghostly presence.
Have you fallen madly in love yet? Because we are totally bewitched!
