DIY décor time! We have a fab treat for you guys today! Blogger and model Busi of I Got It From has dazzled us with this fab wedding idea! Is there anything this girl can’t do?
The idea of the memory jars is to have a collection of memories written by your friends and family about the best times that they shared with you and your partner. On the day of your wedding, the empty jars would be placed around the tables as decorative pieces alongside empty cards that your friends and family can write on. At the end of your wedding day, you will have lovely memories that you can read whenever you wish.
There are endless opportunities with these jars, you could write about great memories that you had with a friend or family member and give it to them as a gift. They would also be great to have around your home for yourself and your partner to write each other lovely messages that you will both cherish for the rest of your life. If you are feeling down about anything, then you can always go back and read them to remind one another about the great moments that you both shared.
To make these jars look pretty and presentable, I have listed a step-by-step tutorial that is easy to follow. Pick a spot to keep your jar and name it for fun!
You need:
- An empty jar
- scissors
- glue
- ribbon
- glitter
- paintbrush
- card
- Squeeze the glue onto the jar and spread it in the shape of a heart using a paintbrush.
- Sprinkle glitter over the heart shape. There will be excess glitter outside of the shape, but this can be brushed off when the glue has dried.
- For the lid, spread the glue all around and sprinkle with glitter.
- When everything is dry, tie a ribbon around the neck of the jar and replace the lid.
