A few weeks ago on our Irish blog, we spoke about what not to wear to a wedding. This week we’re talking about outfits for summer wedding guests. Getting invited to a summer wedding is both a blessing and a curse in itself. On one hand you’ll have so many more options in terms of colour and style, but on the other hand you’ll have to prepare for any situation under the sun (literally). Fret not, with our amazing guidance we’ll have you armed and ready for any occasion!
Onion layer your outfit
Yes you heard us right, In most parts of UK and Ireland, it’s very possible to have a windy and sunny day. Men should wear light breathable undershirts and women, get out the boleros, cardies and blazers. We don’t want to sound like your mother hear but you’ll catch your death if you don’t!
Sink don’t swim
There’s a very good chance of some outdoor photos if you’re going to a summer wedding. So if you can at all, try and pair your outfit with some wedges to avoid trudging into your reception with a mucky shoe! If you can’t pair a wedge heal with your outfit, try a thick heel or a ballerina flat for the outdoor photos.
Whether the weather, be prepared!
The weather can go any way during the course of a day so have a bit of everything. Strong antiperspirant (Sure 48hr Maximum Protection has worked wonders for us!), sunscreen and blotting papers are always handy to have. Keep a bottle of water handy to stay hydrated, especially if you’re like us and you tend to tear up during ceremonies! If you’re driving, keep an umbrella in the car just in case.
