Darren took lessons with Jules ahead of their first dance, now that’s what we call true love!
Creating beautiful memories that will stay with them forever, the Hythe Imperial Hotel was the perfect spot to exchange vows in a non-religious ceremony. Its elegant interiors and in-house champagne bar provided the perfect backdrop for Darren and Juliet’s classical wedding. The bride wowed in a delicate scoop-neck gown with intricate lace overlay, and her bridesmaids complemented the plush surroundings in soft purple tulle skirts and satin heels.
The Proposal
“I proposed on Jersey in the Crab Shack, St Brelades Bay at Juliet’s birthday lunch. It should have been at a lovely restaurant overlooking St Helier marina, but at the last minute dad and Juliet decided they wanted to go to St Brelades Bay for lunch! It was all a mad rush of ringing the restaurant in St Helier to apologise and trying to arrange a table for eight with birthday champagne at the Crab Shack. As she opened her small present – I stopped her and asked if, before she opened her present, she would marry me? I don’t know who was more surprised, the family around the table or Jules!”
The Venue
“The Hythe Imperial is a stunning hotel, it had enough rooms for all our guests if they wanted to stay and nobody had to move once they had arrived. The Ballroom was well decorated and had a lovely view over the sea from its self-contained bar. The staff were so friendly and attentive towards our every need, with the team working extremely hard to make sure everyone was content throughout the day.”
The Photographer
“Our photographer, Helen Batt Photography, understood the brief which we had set out at our initial meeting. In addition to the formal photos, we had wanted her to tell the story as the day unfolded, producing natural images of both us and our guests. She was unobtrusive yet captured every special moment perfectly! She took us away for a few ten-minute photo sessions throughout the day, so overall we were not missed by our guests, which allowed us to spend quality time with them.”
