Introducing Whirlow Brook Hall – a hidden gem to the south-west of Sheffield. Located on the edge of the peak district and close to the border between Yorkshire and Derbyshire, it sits in the heart of the popular Whirlow Brook Park. It is a district park, loved by locals and visitors alike, and it is spread across 39 picturesque acres that provide you with myriad backdrops for your wedding photos.
If you do choose to say “I Do” at Whirlow Brook Hall, you can consider every season for your celebration. The spectacular lands of the park around the venue will present those seasons in a wonderful display whether it’s group shots on the manicured lawn in summer, or you and your new spouse kissing in the autumnal woodland. In spring and summer, you will find lush gardens adorned with vibrant wildflowers and towering trees, often in full bloom. Imagine an autumn or winter celebration amidst falling leaves or a frosted landscape.
The venue itself is a beautiful stone building dating back to 1906, standing proudly on an elevated site overlooking the grounds. Beautiful original features have been retained such as the ornate fireplace and wooden panelling in the Oak Room. Whirlow Brook Hall has adopted a classic neutral style of décor throughout, allowing you scope to personalise and decorate the space according to your personal preferences. The team there will assist you in choosing your theme whether that’s a muted colour scheme or a bold and vibrant palette. You will be able to create a very enchanting ambience, for example, by hanging twinkling fairy lights across the ceiling or dotting jars of candles around the room. Good options are choosing a backdrop or arch and using cascading blooms or a statement floral piece to enhance the focal point of your ceremony.
With a policy of one wedding per day, you’ll receive exclusive use of the entire venue for the full day, including use of the purpose-built Ready Room. Have your getting ready and pre-ceremony photos taken on the morning of your celebration, or if you are planning an engagement or pre-wedding photoshoot, the venue serves as a perfect drop for all those photos too.

The wedding breakfast will be served in the Garden Suite of the venue which can seat up to 120 of your guests. This stunning space boasts exquisite views of the gardens and the floor-to-ceiling windows ensure the room is always flooded with natural daylight. When the meal and speeches have concluded, your guests will be invited to enjoy a drink in the bar or on the terrace whilst the Garden Suite is transformed and made ready for the evening celebrations. In summer while outside, there are great options for lawn games like croquet or fairground favourites such as hook a duck and ring toss. In cooler months, you’ll be keeping your guests toasty with baskets of blankets and providing firepits or outdoor heaters to create a cosy ambience. In the evening, the fire is lit in the Oak Room so guests can sit for a while – that’s the beauty of exclusive use. Another benefit of exclusivity is that pets are allowed. You can bring your four-legged friend to be part of your big day – won’t that be a great addition to your photo album?
