- Be There. Pretty much a given right? But, these days we are all so wrapped up in our own lives! It’s quite simple really, making yourself available should be your top priority. Whether it’s lending your ear to a major bridal rant, offering support or giving a second opinion, it’s all ahead of you
- Learn the names of the bridal party & set up a group chat to introduce yourselves
- Offer to go dress shopping with her
- Have the who pays for what talk
- Help with all things wedding related including DIY invitations, going to wedding events, sorting through RSVPs
- Learn how the wedding gown is fastened – especially of the back detail includes a corset. This could waste lots of valuable time the morning of
- Lead the bride tribe. Get all bridesmaids involved in creating a buzz of excitement and keep them updated with important info which the bride might forget to mention
- Find out what she likes. This way you can spoil her with thoughtful details
- Organise the hen party/Help her mum with planning the honeymoon party
- Pack a bag of essentials or an emergency kit which she may need to use at the reception. Items such as blotting paper, tissues, mini sewing kit should be included. Double-check everything
- Help her get ready the morning of and offer some words of wisdom
- Ensure all bridesmaids are on track with the hair and make up schedule
- Help her into the wedding car, hold her dress if it’s raining, fix her veil and help calm her nerves ahead of the ceremony
- Mind the groom’s wedding ring ahead of the vows
- Hold her bouquet during the vows
- Sign the registrar as a witness
- Walk down the aisle with the Best Man
- Smile for EVERY picture and act like you’re enjoying it
- Assume the role of security. Mind her bag, organise a safe place for gifts and cards at the venue
- Help with all bathroom duties – peeing can be tricky business
- Dance with the Best Man
- Act as her back-up during the reception if any guests need help
- Keep her drink topped up and make sure she eats!!
