This wedding just screams springtime romance!
When I first got a peek of Rich and Megan’s wedding day at Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel I couldn’t help but drool over the attention to detail and tastefully over the top touches. This bride knew what she wanted, and as you’ll see, she executed every single aspect of her special day flawlessly!
Not only was her day a showstopper, just wait until you see her gorgeous dress with a stunning lace back and train fit for a princess! But did I mention the cake?! This has to be one of THE most amazing wedding cakes I have ever seen! So what are you waiting for?! Check out this sweet couple’s wedding captured by Peter Stiles Photography and all its wonderful wedding details below.
The Beginning
“We both went to high school together but didn’t actually start dating until 2014. We saw each other again on Bonfire Night in 2013 and started flirting over messages and then went on our first date on the 3rd January 2014. We went for drinks and because I get so nervous on first dates I didn’t dare eat in front of Rich and bless him he’d come off a 12-hour shift and didn’t end up eating until midnight when I left!”
The Proposal
“We had a gorgeous pooch called Duke, who sadly we lost in January this year, and I always said if Duke been there for the engagement would be perfect! It was on Saturday 7th January 2017 and Rich went out for the day and we were going for a meal at my favourite restaurant on the night. Usually Rich tells me off for always wanting to take a selfie before we go out but on this day he said to make sure you’re ready around 6pm and we will have a drink before we go and you can take a photo haha. As I was then taking a selfie Richard then was on one knee and asked me to marry him. During this time Duke was with us but had got so excited he needed to go outside and then because he could hear that I was getting so excited indoors he came running back in our house, the only thing was that Duke has stood in something not very nice in the garden and ended bringing it all in the house whilst Rich was still on one knee, we couldn’t stop laughing…. it was so Duke to take the limelight and now not having him with us it’s even more special to think back to.our engagement night.”
THE DRESS
“My dress was out of this world, such an amazing train, it was the most perfect dress. The designer was Pronovias and my shoes were Jimmy Choo. My mum found my perfect dress online and just knew it was the perfect dress for me. We searched Bridal Boutiques where they stocked my beautiful dress. We found my dress in a stunning Bridal Boutique called Rogue Bridal Gallery in York and fell in love the dress straight away.”
The Venue
“We choose our wedding venue because it is such a beautiful venue, and mainly because it was local and meant that all our family and friends could be there and not worrying about transport and could really let their hair down and have a fab time. The wow factor was the customer service from start to finish! Karen the Wedding Coordinator at Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel was absolutely amazing and so accommodating with all ideas and my vision for our big day.”
The Photographer
“Our Photographer is fantastic, he is such a friendly guy who is so passionate about his work and myself and Richard loved his motivation and how enthusiastic he was and we could see how much he enjoyed our special day.”
Trends and Themes
“We had quite a princess like girlie wedding and with pastel colours.”
Special Moments
“When I walked down the aisle and saw Richards face and all my nerves went away and I just could not wait to say I do.”
“I spent so much time and effort in making sure our wedding was one to remember. Every little detail was for the guests and guests even said after the wedding that in every corner there was something for them even in the girl’s toilets. When Rich saw the venue styling on the day he was amazing with how beautiful it all was and understood why I had being so busy haha.”
One of our wedding suppliers called Sweetspaces was out of the world, Susy is so talented and put so much effort in ensuring that all our elements on the day were so perfect. Susy truly understood my vision and the elements that she created on the day could of not been more perfect, our wedding truly would not as been as amazing if it hadn’t of been for Sweetspaces.
We had a Videographer called Your Story Film which was amazing and when we watch it, it makes us relive the whole day again, it is so so so special and we are so glad that we found Your Story Film.
