Tips For Page Boys and Flower Girls
- Make sure that the outfits fit correctly and are not too long in case they trip.
- Place their parents sitting towards the front to give them a sense of ease.
- Make sure they are occupied during the ceremony. Some children may need entertaining so for a young child try these tips to keep them going.
- Give them plenty of time to rehearse before the ceremony. If they’re quite young (under 3), make sure they have an older sibling or carer on hand to prevent them becoming distressed.
- If they really don’t want to do it on the day, relax and let it go. Most children will respond well to the formality of the ceremony if you make it seem fun for them but some children will get cold feet last minute! In this case, you can always just have them in the photos afterwards.
- Introduce them to the Celebrant to give them a sense of familiarity.
- To keep them on path, try placing a trail up the aisle for them to follow. Use décor along their eye level for this.
- Needless to say… make sure they’ve been fed and taken to the toilet before the ceremony!
