If you’re currently reading this, it’s more than likely that you’ve gotten engaged recently. And that probably also means that you have been spending more and more of your time researching that all important wedding venue. And once you’ve narrowed done that list, it’s probably time to arrange those appointments to view or maybe even book your wedding (oooh… exciting!).
If you’re anything like us, you always walk away from a situation with a million questions you should have asked at the time but totally forgot. So, our advice is why not bring along a list of ideas and questions to write some answers as you go? That way, you’re left with the info you will need and a way to compare this venue to other venues.
There are probably (not probably, definitely) and endless amount of questions you will be wanting to ask your venues, but here are a few to start you off:
- Is my ideal date free (if you have a date in mind)
- How many will your venue accommodate?
- Who will be available on the day? Do you have an in-house coordinator? If so, are they available up to and including the reception?
- Is there a minimum amount of guests required for my wedding?
- How flexible are your packages?
- Are you planning any changes leading up to or on my day?
- Do you do ceremonies?
- Do you have a menu to taste? Is it included in the package?
- Do you charge a corkage fee?
- Are there different options for tables, chairs and covers?
- Can I use my own covers/décor?
- Is décor and stationery included in the day?
- Do you have microphones for speeches?
- Is there a charge for a bar extension/late bar?
- Can you recommend any bands or DJs?
- Is there a payment schedule? Do you take deposits?
- Do you have a cancellation fee?
- Do you have any off-peak reductions?
