The Week Before Your Wedding

It’s finally almost here! Can you believe it? After months of planning, deciding and analysing all things wedding related it is now just one week before your wedding! At this stage all the big tasks should be complete and you should begin to feel organized, relaxed and super excited. One to two weeks before the wedding can also of course be a very busy time, here are a few things to keep in mind:

The Rehearsal

The wedding rehearsal is a very important preparation for the wedding day. This should be planned for the week of or week before the wedding day.

The Venue

You should have the final numbers for your wedding reception and confirm them with the wedding venue. Your seating plan should also now be complete. Gather your seating plan, escort cards, guest book and wedding favours and drop them off at the venue for safe keeping.

The Suppliers

Confirm all details with your wedding suppliers including the times, location and payment along with any other requests or details they should know of.

The Groom and his Boys

Double check that your groom and his groomsmen have their attire sorted and that all fittings have been completed. You know what they can be like!

The Dress

Your wedding dress should now be resting at home is a safe place. Gather your shoes, jewellery, underwear, shoes and any other accessories and keep them together. Try on your wedding dress one last time with your veil and underwear to ensure everything is perfect.

Beauty

You should be pampering yourself! Take an afternoon to enjoy your last beauty appointments; waxing, tan and nails!

The Wedding Night

Pack your overnight bag for the wedding night. Some things you might want to include:

  • Clothes for the next day
  • Shoes, tights, socks & underwear
  • Jewellery
  • Toiletries, hairbrush, straighteners, curlers… whichever you need.

The Honeymoon

If you can manage it you should try to pack for your honeymoon before your wedding day. Organise your tickets and passports and keep them somewhere safe.

Emergency Kit

Make up a wedding day emergency kit containing hairclips, nail scissors, wipes, plasters, deodorant, mints, safety pins etc. Give this to your Maid of Honour to mind, she will find a spot in the venue to store it.

Day of the Wedding

If you do one thing, eat breakfast. You will need lots of energy throughout the day and a good breakfast will make all the difference. Now go and get married!!
