If your wedding day is soon approaching you will be in the midst of your wedding planning. This can be an extremely busy time! But what about the preparations and things that need to be taken care of before you dash off on your honeymoon? Many couples plan their honeymoon for a day or two after the wedding, which doesn’t exactly give you a whole lot of time if you haven’t thought about what might need doing after the big day. Read our tips below to make sure you’re prepared.
Thanks You’s
If you don’t have time to send out thank you cards before you jet off on your honeymoon then leave yourself a reminder for your return. It’s important to send these to your guests as soon as possible to show them you both appreciated them celebrating your wedding.
Wedding Presents
Gather all your wedding cards and presents together and store them in a safe place while you are gone away. It could even be a good idea to go through them and write a list of people you need to thank ensuring you don’t forget anyone.
Wedding Dress
You should take your wedding dress to a specialised dry cleaners as soon after the wedding as you can. Do not wait until you return from your honeymoon! If you are really stuck for time you could ask your Maid of Honour to bring it. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind doing you one last favour!
Return Suits
If your groom and his groomsmen hired their suits they will need to be returned to the store. This is something your groom can surely take care of himself, just perhaps do remind him!
Wedding Cake
Make sure to take the remainder (if there is any!) of your wedding cake with you from the venue. Don’t let it go to waste, perhaps share it amongst your family. If it’s chocolate biscuit cake it will stay fresh for up to about 2 weeks!
Luggage
Check you have everything packed in your luggage. Especially the most important things such as passports, credit cards and any booking confirmations you might need.
Once the above is taken care of, you should be set to go! Enjoy you’re holiday of a lifetime, and don’t forget to share your photos with your nearest and dearest upon your return!
