Okay, so as I write this, I realize I’m not actually married. I have no intentions of getting married (anytime soon anyway) but I do understand relationships. AND I’ve done a little bit of research on the subject of marriage (from the guys here in the office and friends) and apparently there are just a few things that will only become clear to you once your married.
With a little help from some of our friends, here are some things you will only understand once you’re married….
The Idea of Forever is Really Forever
This is the one comment we’ve heard from every newlywed who has ever crossed our paths. The word forever kinda just sinks in. It may sounds a little depressing at first, but forever isn’t always a bad thing. And in today’s world, there are very little things we get forever!
Really Knowing What Commitment Can Mean
For better or worse really means for better or worse! It doesn’t just mean holding someone’s hair when they get sick (although, thank you for that too), it means putting up with us at our very worst and making sacrifices for your loved one. It’s hard, but so rewarding when who have someone who does the same.
Hating The Person You Love The Most
As much as your love for them is deep, it’s possible to be incredibly annoyed with them at the exact same time. And as much as that can lead to frustrating moments, you will also discover that there is a difference between being right and keeping the peace! Pick your battles…
You’ll Never Need to Utter Another Word
In a marriage (and even a long term relationship), there will be times when your partner can read you like a book just from looking into your eyes. Whether it’s your opinion on a decision or communicating in the bedroom, you’ll always have that unspoken language.
