Trash the dress is a mainly known as a style of wedding photography that puts beautiful clothing in a setting or an environment that is out of place. The style has mainly been inspired by fashion photography but has since become popular among brides.
Typically, a bride wears a beautiful outfit wears a dress and decides to ruin it by getting it wet, dirty or even tearing it. While we have to admit, this sounds like an amazing idea. But, would you be happy with the consequences? Here are some Pros and Cons:
Pros
- It’s fun! If you’re a little adventurous, this is your chance to be a little reckless.
- The photos will look amazing. Create your own Vogue style shoot with your wedding photographer.
- Use your dress for something good. Cystic Fibrosis Ireland and many other charities have used trash the dress to create awareness for a good cause.
Cons
- You’re beautiful dress… Gone forever! Maybe that dress could have been given to a friend or a charity.
- It’s literally like burning money. Wedding dresses definitely don’t come cheap.
- Trash the dress is a cool trend, but will you think the same way about your wedding photos in 20 years?
