We’ve never been ones to pass up a lovely afternoon tea. So, when we heard about Cedar Court Grand Hotel’s Wedding Afternoon Tea package, we were a little more than intrigued. Evie, Wedding Coordinator at this North Yorkshire venue had a chat with us about this exciting new package/wedding trend. Be warned, the contents of this article are mouth watering!
A wedding afternoon tea sounds like a lovely idea! Tell us, what is the difference between this and you’re other wedding packages?
Our Wedding Afternoon Tea Package is really designed to be a more relaxed and informal day. And of course it includes our scrumptious Afternoon Tea!
Tell us about the menu!
Our current menu includes traditional afternoon tea, finger sandwiches, mini scones with clotted cream and preserves, orange and roasted nut chocolate delice, apple pie cupcake with cinnamon frosting, a yummy trifle and the grand finale…. a Lemon Meringue Cone that looks like a mini Mr Whippy ice cream!
Yum!!! What gave you the idea to start this package? Do you think informal wedding receptions are becoming more of a trend?
We wanted to create a more informal package that suits the popular trend of a later Wedding Ceremony and Wedding Breakfast (or in this case Afternoon Tea). We are finding more and more couples don’t want to have an evening reception or try to cram everything in a few hours. They would rather have a long and leisurely morning getting ready, with a ceremony about 3pm and an Afternoon Tea/Wedding Breakfast at about 4-5pm. This package is also perfect for a couple who might be planning a destination wedding, but still want to have a gathering at home.
What is your favorite feature of this package?
I personally believe the whole package is great, but the main feature is the Afternoon Tea Buffet washed down with a delicious glass of Prosecco. It is your special day, so my advice would be take time to savour each moment and enjoy it.
