Often, with careful thought and consideration, a wedding day is one of those rare occasions that we plan for months or maybe years. Sometimes it may even feel like we could need a degree in Event Management to get through it! But, it always gets sorted in the end. With such careful thought and consideration put into the day, it’s important to remember the bigger picture too. Here are a few wedding mistakes to avoid when planning your day!
Budget
It’s there for a reason. Over spending in one area only means you’re cutting yourself short somewhere else. Instead, allow for 10% extra give or take to be spent in each area. Keep that 10% aside for emergency buys or last minute changes.
Bride Brain
There can be a point in your wedding planning experience where it has managed to take over your life (i.e ‘Bride Brain’). Just remember, it’s only one day and there will be other days after it! The most important aspect to remember is that you are about to spend the rest of your life with someone. So much attention gets put on wedding planning that this aspect can get forgotten.
All By Myself
Do not, we repeat, do not attempt to plan the whole day solo! Either two things will happen in this situation. 1: You will drive every person around you absolutely mad with stress or 2: You will have complete breakdown! Both options involve screaming and hair pulling! Instead, decide on who your key bridal party members are and recruit your partner on the planning.
